Especially when she says "task ourselves to be better each time then those before us" her voice just sounds similar to Dylans. Anyone else agree? Allan Bershaw and Gerry Lipnowski and I discussed this very thing back at Nashville, when she first sang this song. As I remember it, Allan had asked Jewel if she knew the Dylan song; she said she didn't, and he was going to play it for her. With Singer-songwriters: Since the end of the 1990s, we have seen massive commercial success achieved by boy bands and teenage idols - *N Sync, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears - whose records have been concocted by production and writing teams. Recently, there has been a new trend, in which young singer-songwriters have broken through and appealed to a young audience. Meanwhile, more mature singer-songwriters continue to sell records while being ignored by American radio formats. First off Jason Mraz was incredible. His voice and sound is so unique. If you haven't heard him yet, you should really check him out. Now on to Jewel. Simply put the show was amazing. I was fortunate enough to have second row seats and watched the whole show is complete and utter awe. Her voice has always been captivating but as others have mentioned it has gained new strength and is absolutely astounding. The set list: Does Anyone Believe In Love Anymore? My memory is bad as to what songs she sang exactly, but Taryn has already posted it, for I went to the Lancaster show as well. I think for most of the show, I was in shock that I was actually seeing her, and not through a tv screen. I had great seats, about 3rd row if you count the two very small rows of pit seats in front of me (lucky bastards). I remember realizing that she has a really broad face when she first came up on stage and opened the show. She was very entertaining telling her stories of her vacation in Mexico, and then playing YWMFM and WWSYS, and her story of how Race Car driver came to be. But she also talked about the show elmidate, mentioning how if a guy were to ask a girl the same questions the guys do on the show, they would be slaped, and then dedicated Jesus Loves You to the show. Re-doing the line; Showing ta-ta's on elimidate is ok, I wanna be ok too. And early on in the show she said that a fist fight broke out the night before in Saratoga. About 5 mins later or so, a guy shouts I love you Jewel!, and she replies, if you really loved me, you would fist fight another man for me. The whole place broke out in laughter. But for me the most amazing part was getting her autograph a few hours later before she left. I was so star struck that when she first came out, I just stared at her, not moving in for an autograph. I remember others telling her how great she was, and asking about being with Garth. I didn't want to say anything to her, cause I knew I would just make an ass out of myself. So when I got to her, I handed her my ANWOA book and was staring at her hands noticing how long her fingers were, and how feminine her hands are while she signed it. Then when she went to let go, I looked in her eyes and said thank you with so much emotion in it, it scared me. And she smiled back saying something, to be honest I was so in shock I just know her mouth moved, and she was looking me dead in the eyes, so I know she was talking to me. LOL But the really great thing is, I think she really understood in those two words how much meeting her ment to me, Something in the way she smiled back at me, like she knew I wasn't phyco fan, just big huge normal fan...hehe. Like Taryn said earlier tonight, if anyone has any recordings or photographs from the show, please share them with me. It would be greatly appreciated =) Night Night Angels --- magickba11@earthlink.net--- Crystal ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V7 #422 ***************************
