So when i call them, they never answer! Hi all, I took some fantastic photographs of Jewel at the Portsmouth,UK concert in May this year. Seeing as i was in the second row, almostly directly in front of her, its probably not surprising ! Does anybody have anything Jewelesque that they wanna trade for some copies of the photos? Would be grateful for any copied CD's,tapes or videos in exchange, as being in the UK my collection is not that expansive! Please mail me if interested. regards Glen South Coast Angel UK ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 21 Jul 2002 16:01:42 -0500 From: "Lew - New World Warehouse" Subject: [EDA] Dallas Morning News Correction Um....whoever did the review in the Dallas Morning News (that Minh put up on here) was a little off. He puts that she did "Pieces of You" as a solo piano encore...now umm....I don't remember that or a whole lot of piano in the original. What she DID do as a solo encore was "Foolish Games".... Wouldn't it be great, for the 1 year marker of that concert? Jewel wouldn't even have to do any extra work. As I've said too many times before-- I would do ANYTHING to get an unabridged version of that concert-- even on CD if I couldn't get the visuals as well. It was just such a great experience and I don't know about others, but I've forgotten so much of it! I looked at the setlist the other day and realized that I didn't remember that she sang some of the songs. Ok, I'm off my soapbox, but maybe we should start bugging *someone* about this. Anyone agree?? ~Rachel~ _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 21 Jul 2002 17:49:30 EDT From: Wesllow@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Houston's Highlights & Lowlights- my opinions Hi all, Just getting home from Houston I can recall on the show from last night. first off there were the great points of the concert: Atz, Love isn't for lovers anymore, the lighting, the Band...that was all gravy but there was also parts of the concert i could have done without...the venue was very nice and intimate but for 50 bucks i would have liked to have had some AC and I have been to many concerts but I have never seen so many camera Nazi's as relentless as the staff last night..i figure from everyone being able to snap one picture we can all put them together and maybe create a whole roll :) The crowd was also very stuffy last night, everyone looked like they had better things to do and damn, someone just dragged them to the concert against their will. I wore My BIG UGLY shirt that read "EDAS SUCK" and no one said hi .. so yeah you sucked...and to boot everyone's legs last night must have been hurting because no one would stand up and when they did stand up, they promptly sat themselves right back down after 2 songs...One guy clad in a Bandana stood up by himself during most of the concert but it did look kinda silly with only one person standing up. I was also disappointed with the Merch. the tourbook is so cheap beyond my wildest dreams and there was not a medium shirt to be found. The setlist was great and I enjoyed Atz coming out and singing and of course I yelled for Violet eyes, and just obviously heard "Morning Song" because that is so easily mistaken ..I mean violet/morning...they sound very similar... all in all I'd grade the concert as a C+ the spirit tour was definitely better but I'll take what I can get :) Wesllow ~the redstick Indigo Angel~ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 21 Jul 2002 18:25:05 -0400 From: "Lindsay" Subject: [EDA] Jewel AIM theme =) Hey all! I hope it wasn't a personal emergency or anything like that. At > any rate, at least I got to see them before they flew back to Europe. I read that it was Atlantic Records tight budget that forced M2M to cancel the remaining shows with Jewel. Touring like this costs a whole lot and M2M's poor sales figures with only 100.000 copies of their latest release in the US is probably a part of it too. Right now they're back in Norway although I don't know what they'll do there, they've already promoted their album earlier this year so I'm curious. Maybe writing new material. eric. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 21 Jul 2002 21:29:28 EDT From: MLewisFL@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Re: this really torks me off Joe: I see your point--but I thought it was a really cool thing for her to do. We have been at the shows and have really had an open mind for thier performances, and most of us enjoyed them, so I think that we deserve an official explanation.
