Heya all angels, I live in Minneapolis and went to the show as well (it was my very first concert) and I completely concur (sp?). The show was completely amazing. I was in the 7th row and Jewel was the cutest ever in her little jean skirt, studded belt and little white shirt thinger. In any case I was also wondering if anyone knows how to get a copy of this show cuz I KNOW I saw people up on stage with video cameras. Also how on earth does one acquire those first row let's-rest-our-elbows-on-the-stage seats?!?! An amazing concert if y'all have tickets for her up and coming shows you'll be completely blown away :) Adios! - -J "We are everyday angels, be careful with me cuz I'd like to stay that way" ~"Sensitive" Jewel ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Jul 2002 18:22:29 EDT From: FOWLER09LFC@aol.com Subject: [EDA] AMAZING CONCERT! The Minnesota concert was amazing. She sang beautifully and she looked gorgeous as usually. I don't remember the song order at all. I was paying too much attention to her singing. Hopefully, I will be going to see her again later in august. It was better than the Nashville recording session, and oh so much better than the show I saw during the Spirit tour. I don't remember the set list but the band sections were basically the same as the other shows with 2 new songs. I really loved the one she said she wrote in Chicago a few days ago. The chorus was very catchy and went something like, "Turn the radio on, turn my song up, feel the wind blow my hair......." Definatly a feel good song. A big highlight was "Does anyone believe in love anymore" during the solo set, one of my favorites. I yelled Violet eyes when she asked for requests. I was so exited when she egan to play it but sooooo pissed when the sound went out. Luckily I was close enough that I could barely hear her voice still. It was real sad though to see her with her eyes shut pouring her heart out into the song not even realizing no one in the audience could hear her. When the sound went out again during Life Uncommon, all that could be heard was the drums and T-Bone yelling, "yeah that's it brother" to Stuart, that brought some laughs, again because they were all jaming out, not even realizing no one could hear anything. At one point during Life Uncommon when the sound was out Jewel was so into it she bent over and let out the loudest scream, I could hear it loudly, damn I can't even imagine what that would have been like if the mics were working. Anyway, The Band IS AMAZING, Jewel was beautiful and AMAZINTG as well. She told a great new story i haven't hear yet, She said Maxim magazine offered her the upcoming December issue cover, (guys begin to scream and applaude), SHe told them she would do it if she could just wear jeansd and a t shirt, "not a wet t shirt, or a see thru t shirt". They told her she could do that if she would suck on a lollipop seductively, so she turned it down, and of course the record company was mad at her about it cause it's 4 million in circulation or something. For those who keep track like me:), Jewel was wearing the jeans with white stuff at the bottom, the brown belt with tassels hanging to her knees, and a croched type shirt with no back that I haven't seen in a ny of the pictures so far. She also wore her hair up wich I haven't seen in a ny of the pictures I've seen from other shows. My friends I brought who were moderate Jewel fans before this are now huge Jewel fans. One of them is a music major and said Jewel has the most amazing voice and a huge range, definatly near beating Mariah Carey on the world record for biggest vocal range. If anyone has a recording of the concert let me know, I have a ton to trade. Oh and if the two guys that were moved up to the front because the ppl behind you complained about you standing up dancing are on this list Email me. You two were awesome! I'm asking the list because I've heard it used by many of you and I'm interested in hearing how other people define the word. Is mainstream what is popular on radio? Is it a catchy, upbeat song or can it be a slow ballad? Is Jewel considered mainstream or are only certain songs mainstream? And if Jewel were to be played on the radio 24/7 and other artists came out sounding like her, would Jewel be mainstream? How do you determine whether music or songs you like are mainstream? And why is mainstream considered such a bad thing? I was hoping some people could answer this for me or at least give me their opinions. Also, name some artists who would be considered mainstream and artists who wouldn't. Thanks a lot to anyone who replies. - -Tanya ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Jul 2002 20:48:06 -0500 From: "Eric L." Are my posts not getting through to everyone, or do some people just not read them? So, once again, yes someone recorded the show (me).
