["now and zen girl" Subject: [EDA] I'm sad... :( So many people have said Jewel has been signing autographs and meeting people after shows in the States... Why didn't she do that in Tokyo??? When we were waiting, there were no more than 20 people waiting around... It rained one night, but we waited for 45 minutes... I know I shouldn't expect anything more from Jewel than her music, but I am still disappointed that I didn't get to meet her... Especially when she is seeing so many fans in the States... Oh well... Jewel is SO awesome!) Soul City Cafe absolutely rocked - my roommate and I are both big Dustin Fox fans now. He is an amazing poet! Jewel wore her pink Anchor bar top with the cut-up jeans (as compared to her other tour outfir which is the skirt and top). The crowd was excellent, very responsive, and she seemed to be in a great mood for the show. Here is the setlist she actually played - Band Set One - I won't walk away Standing Still Do you want to play? Jesus loves me Hands Till we run out of road This Way What's simple is true Solo set - Morning song Little sister Cold Song You were meant for me Band set 2 - Life Uncommon Love isn't for lovers Down so long (After this song Jewel actually picked up a guitar and played with the full band!) Serve the Ego LMJLMA Everybody Needs Someone sometimes New Wild West WWSYS Encore - Foolish Games Cleveland - for the first time on the tour, she finally played Cleveland! All in all, it was an amazing show and I'm sure Jewel is enjoying her rest before taking on the next leg of the tour. Hey angels- just wanted to let everyone whom i am making a booklet for in on this: I haven't picked up and read this little pamplet in quite a while, years even, but i just did, and OH MY! It was written by Jewel and you would not believe- every other word is mispelled! she makes fun of how she can't spell, she spells the word 'pieces' as 'peices' every time and spells out words like 'encredable' and just all sorts of stuff- you guys will really like this, there is even stuff about the songs from POY that you wouldn't have already known- just wanted to let you know, it is very cute, young jewel... julianne New! If you cut the pants to the length you want them, then rip the inside seams out, then you just sew along the seams across the front and back, and add a simple stitch across the bottom so that it doesn't fray endlessly, you'll have the skirt! But anyhow, it was a very loud and rambunctious crowd, I'm pretty sure we were on our feet from about 5 minutes before she came on, through the whole show. I was in Row H in Section 1, really good seats. I got the set list after the show, but left it in the car so I'll have to post that later. I only got a few pics, they were real pricks about it there, not like at Meadowbrook where I had like 50 pics. It was a really good show, she started super late though, and it seemed a lot shorter than Meadowbrook was. I liked her jeans, I think I'll make a pair like that. Yes, they are all females singing and playing guitar (although Avril doesn't play it as often) but Liz's and Juliana's sound is much different. Some of Juliana's earlier stuff was a little closer (production-wise anyway), but nothing in the past 8 years has been. And Liz has always had more of a raw sound. So we can be vague and say they are the same, of course, but then we could also say this about most of the industry as well. I mean, EVERYONE is the same if you really take a step back and look at the big picture...they're all "entertainment artists", correct? I agree...being a certain number on a chart isn't always the best way to judge how good an artist is. So on that note, we shouldn't pay any attention to how well Jewel charts in the US either, right? Like when Spirit was up there pretty high for awhile? That must not have meant anything I guess.
