(7 days) [Sean Ryan Subject: [EDA] Toledo Review (cried) Hello :) So, i got into the zoo before sound check and sat on the wall over looking the theatre. Jewel came out and said something like "let's work on that new one" and she pulled out a lyric sheet. It was NOT "love is not for lovers anymore" To me, it sounded a lot like shadows play but was NOT that either. Sooo i guess she has been a busy little girl writing new songs lately :) Eventaully the "Jewel Security" yelled at us to get off the wall, which then turned into an arguement between the female jewel sec. guard, and some guy who is asst. director at the zoo. He demanded that i be aloud to stay ;) Needless to say, he won, woohoo. THe show was alright itself. SHe came out in a cute red corsett like shirt and white pants shoting at the the sound guy to fix the volume. It seemed to bother her more than usual tonight. She actually got kinda snotty with him during LMJLMA which caused her to comepltly botch the lyrics "Your sister was a stock broker, cross bred with a car wreck... your sister (mumbles) but you ain't nothin but a turtle neck" The crowd was quite mellow at first. she said "now i have a broken collar bone, im not going ot be the only one up here dancing" No real stories tonight. Just the short couple sentence explainations of songs. She asked if we liked PBR and said her boyfriend is a bull rider. Someone boooooo'd at ty and she snapped "Don't boo my boyfriend" So she goes into TWROOR, and at the end completly nailed it. She was doing her little screams, yellin, dancing.. having a blast. i was actually in the fourth row, and thought i saw a tear. i dismissed it then afterwards she walked back to trey the drummer and wiped her face off. she was so red and she fanned hersef for a second taking a quite couple second break. She walked back to the mike and took a deep breath and shook it off. Then looked over at dave the guitarist and made a face at him. SO i guessshe was crying a little. who knows. *shrug* I saw Mel, and I saw Beth tonight, but no one else. Where were you guys?!?!?! No new songs tonight, not even the newest one. No stories and no requests. (she asked, but then played the same Little sister and morning song she plays everynight lol) The crowd got into it the second part of the set during LMJLMA. after her foolish games encore she turned around to steve and said "im done!" and he walked opff stage. She ended the show 10 minutes earlier than the paper said. The crowd was pushing, and started grabbing at her feet. she walked towards them at first, but then they were touching all over and she quickly walked away. Then they continued to reach so she leaned down and grabbed everyones hands. Still they weren't satisfied. she did chime bells, and then left. Everyone stuck around but were immediatly informed that she left as soon as she was finished singing. Not so sure about that one. But we left anyway. ummm that's all i guess. So my concerts are finished for the summer. She was off the stage by like 10:15 i think. Also on the right of the stage by the soundbooth you could see Ty Murray watching. I feel bad cuz people booed him and he was right there. It probably pissed Jewel off! I bet Jewel wanted to hang out with him so she played less songs?? I held up a piece of paper doing her solo set that asked her to play "satellite" and she squinted her eyes at the paper to try to read it. I think she did cuz she kind of nodded her head, but she didn't play it. Maybe she forgot it. Oh well. Overall it was a pretty good show.
