I think LMJLMA could be better if they turned it all rock as before. I think right it is a good time to put Serve the Ego out there, I think it would get Jewel high on the charts. I don't mean to come off sounding rude but... you guys are never happy w/ Jewel's or atlantics descions. I mean... after you guys heard the remake (remix) of Break me, you were all... "oh, i KNOW this is going to be a hit! Its the next YWMFM!!" and now... its all.. "I knew it was going to bomb!" My choice was This Way.. But i'm ok with whatever THEY choose! Its still Jewel after all, regardless if its a hit or not! Its a hit to US (the EDAs), and thats all that matters... I know even if Jewel/atlantic releases LMJLMA or Serve The Ego, and the video doesn't turn out the way YOU want it to, then here we go again w/ the dissapointment! You have to consider that people actually have to hear the song. Not to mention that Jewel is in the hospital right now and she can't exactly go and play it everywhere. It has to be up to us to call radio stations & request on TRL or do that kind of stuff for other music channels like VH1. I agree w/ Jewel Fan, we really are never happy. It's like we're happy for a second then it's like, ok next. We haven't even given the song a chance. It took a little while for SS to get playing. We don't realize how hard it is to do all the mixing and video making etc. So, excuse me for being so mean, but just shut up and wish for JEWEL to be WELL. She works hard enough for us to put all this criticism on her. Subject: [EDA] New Single You know what songs would be REALLY good singles? How about What's Simple Is True, or Life Uncommon? Those would be awesome! I think that Jupiter song would do really well too, especially if she did a completely new, radio-friendly version. She'd go 34 times platinum! What? These were already singles? Could of fooled me. Hopefully Break Me won't meet the same fate, though I'm pretty sure it's inevitable. I think her next one should be DYWTP? It's catchy, and though it's not my favorite, it would pull people in. It's definitely something radios and (I hate to say it) MTV would play. Face it guys, even if we don't like saying "if you're on MTV, you've MADE IT," it's got a HUGE impact on what sells. Oh k, I totally agree that this single is dead. It is NOT cause it came out too early though, like some of you are saying. Standing Still is not JUST getting recognition...it has had it the hole time, it just doesn't seem to drop off too fast, which is great! I do agree that alot of you are mad at whatever decision is made, and that some of you just complain all the time. I don't know how some of you even claim to like her with that attitude, but there are a great sum of you that go with whatever and wish for the best. ROCK ON!:) Also I don't agree though with the next single idea. I think both LMJLMA and STE and DYWTP are GREAT songs, but i don't konw how well they would do on the radio. To see, I tested them out on my friends and other people around here, and judging by myself along with them. I think that LMJLMA COULD, and i did say COULD, be a good single BUT the lyrics, you have to admit, are a little out there. They are not that catchy of words, and alot of people look for good lyrics in songs. THe beat and all is AWESOME and has potential for radio but just some words could be worked on... The whole turtleneck thing and all....i don't know. Also Serve the Ego got HIGH reviews. Every review on this way mentioned it. I think that is a clue. If maybe there was more music during the verses so they weren't so quiet it coudl be AWESOME and would blow EVERYONE OUT OF THE WATER! I would LOVE to see this the next single. Also DYWTP has potential. I could see people likeing this too, it is just a cute little innocent song. I love that. I still believe that This Way could be a good single. A rock and roll version of it would be MASSIVE! I mean cause the lyrics are exactly what people like to hear and all, love songs are IN! And it has her own jewel flare to it! I would love to here her just rock out on this as a next single! All in all i hope that she makes her next move, but plans it carefully, and strikes it at the right time! I do have a gripe to talk about also though. I think that Jupiter and What's Simple is True were AWESOME singles....WHAT HAPPENED! I really think they didn't get fair recognition, especially jupiter. That is THE MOST RADIO FRIENDLY REMIX EVER and it shoulda blown everyone away...but something happend that i don't understand and it fizzed away..... TOOO BAD!! WSIT, this song i have to talk to you about. I could totally see this being awesome if she turned up some electric guitars and sped it up... IT WOULD BE AN AWESOME ROCK SONG TOO....just for a moment please sit down and imagine it....................aww the wonders! CHarlie thanks to all of you who read this whole thing, i appreciate hearing what you thought of my opinion too....as long as it isn't flames! ahah _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 07 May 2002 01:18:11 +0000 From: "Charles Gregory" Subject: [EDA] LMJLMA Video Idea... Hey all, as I listen to this song I get this idea of a video in my head and i just thing it would be so awesome.... Please read my idea for it and let me know what you think. Though i am not so sure it would be a good single, i can think of good videos for it. This video goes along with the version already on this way so think of that when you read this. Here it is.... It is a desert (i know this is redundent from standing still, but it just works) and the camera shot is of the blistering sun then it slowly goes down showing the whole desert from above then moves closer and closer to the ground and sits on jewel riding her horse in dirty ol jeans and cowboy hat and all. She is riding in a old time town in a western movie, and she comes up to an old grocery store all wooden building with a wooden sidewalk porch out the front of it. She hops off the horse and is tieing him up when she looks up and sees a crowd of cowboys like Ty standing on the end of the porch talking to each other, and one catches her eye, and she catches his.."I saw you, standing there, you had gold dust in your pocket, and combed barbed wire on your hair" the camera just shows her looking at him and him looking back, both of them sweaty from this hot day in the sun "you thought i didn't notice, the skin on your teeth had a tear" she finishes tying the horse and the music continues as she is walking towards him to get into the building, but pretending not to see him. Then when she walks past him he calls to her so she turns around to see "to make me notice you started to shout" and him and all his friends are waving for her to come over to them "then you and all your minions started flapping your tiny arms all about, they said you were a wise man, when'd they teach wise men to pout?" she just shakes her head laughing at how he was tring and keeps on walking away...Scene ends. Opens again when she is in a tavern place with some friends and the room is crowded. "I tried to forget you but you tied bells to your name" he walks in with all his friends and their eyes meet but they look away quickly and he struts by her table to get her attention more and goes over with his pals and starts playing pool. "they jingle everytime i thought of you without shame" they keep glanceing at each other tring not to be noticed "I tried to be unloveable why couldn't you do the same" drums are beating at this part right when the scene switches again. Now it is her all dressed up as a singer (again kinda like standing still but still different) and she is in a club singing this song playing her guitar on stage at this part. BUt she is not herself. (THIS IS HARD TO EXPLAIN) it is her singing but it is like it is a different girl cause the jewel that is flirting with the guy is in the audience watching this. I hope you understand. "What's the matter" he walks in to the club, and jewel in the audience notices him "does you love need a home alright then" shows jewel on stage singint this phrase-"love me just leave me alone" Everyone in the audience is danceing with each other and watching this "jewel onstage" preform. The jewel in the audience is with her girlfriends dancing and watching but she is still watching him out of the corner of her eye too... ANd he is donig the same. This club, i might add, is an old fasioned place too, it is not going from western to modern or anything. It stays western the whole time. "your mother was a wolfbite, your daddy was a cigarette, your brother was a rosebud cross bread witha car wreck. Your sister was a stock broker but you ain't nothing but a turtleneck"- during that whole part nothing changes, it keeps showing jewel on stage singing off and on and the jewel in the aduience dancing a little and looking over at her man once in a while and him looking too. Then after that line, their eyes finally lock and you can sence instant romance. Jewel dances her way towards him and he starts dancing towards her. "It's not your little boy smile it's not your little boy name" They are looking at each other pationately and grab hands and dance closely together. "its those big boy hands that are the ones to blame" it shows him grabbing her abs. "Ive tried to be unloveable" then it quick goes to onstage jewel for this--"why couldn't you do the SAME, oh yeha baby!" the scream! the best part. They keep dancing thru the end of the last chorus just laughingly smiling at each other, and staying real close. Then when the song ends, onstage jewel drops her guitar, then it shows other jewel with the cowboy and she moves away from him and starts to walk away and looks back over her shoulder for the last "love me just leave me alonnnnnnnne" then she laughs and walks out one of those swinging half door things like in the olden days. then it is over. Well what did you alll think.. I was trying to write it fast so there are alot of misspellings, sorry. I could not explain some parts but I hoep you get the gist. Please let me know what you think. I will take good and bad comments if neccessary.. THANK YOU for reading the whole thign! I appreciate you doing that for me!
