I think I just won some sort of contest from Fanscape... In the mail today, I got a package from them. Being the little kid I am (I'm 24), I ripped open the unexpected package in the parking lot of the post office... :) Inside was a Jewel coffee cup (with one of her pictures on it), a mouse pad, and two travel candles. There was no note saying what it was. The custom for said it was a "Commericial Gift." Did anyone else get this, or remember Fanscape offering a contest? If a website does offer a contest in regards to Jewel, I generally enter it. Maybe I forgot about entering this one. Just wanted to share my excitement and confusion! I personally don't think that it is a bad concept, but it doesn't go with the song. It would actually be a really cool video if it was for a different song. Here's how I think the video should have been done. Before song begins, airplane lands to a dark, cloudy sky. The music starts, and Jewel is walked to her limo by her entourage. She looks out the window and watches the buildings pass and sings, and eventually gets to the hotel. She sits around, gets unpacked, and then goes out to the beach. The radio station I work at, Mix 106.5 in San Jose, is doing a promotion giving away tickets to see Jewel in London on May 27th. That includes roundtrip airfare. The contest runs through May 7th. You have to be 18 and have a valid passport in order to win. Unfortunately, you have to live in the bay area in order to enter because you have to be caller 10 whenever a Jewel song is played. Then you get a Jewel CD. I assume "This Way" but don't know for sure. Then you are entered into a random drawing taking place next week. As of this point Mix doesn't stream audio so the only way to listen is with a radio. All the details are on our website www.todaysbestmix.com. I really hope you decide to listen!
