New to the list, though certainly not to Jewel. Now that I have more regular 'net access, thought I would join the party. Here's my story, as it pertains to Jewel... I saw/heard her first on a couple of the early TV appearances...Conan/Regis & Kathie Lee, I think. That voice just stuck in my head, and I had to buy the CD. At the time, I was living in central Nebraska (unfortunately), and the independent record store owner had never even heard of her, so I had him special order the disc. I listened to PoY about 16 hrs a day for quite a while...had it on repeat in my bedside stereo and listened to it in my office while the movies were running at the theater I was managing. Eventually (March of '97) I drove to Denver to see her live...and was blown away by the voice even more. Then she sang 'Fragile Flame', which later became 'Fat Boy', and I lost it. That last verse...my life in four lines. Never has a person affected my life so much. I won't go into too much of that part here, but you know how she hits you. From that moment on, I had an intense desire to thank her for that song. So, 2 yrs + later, I saw her in Kansas City, and had the most memorable experience of my life. I'll let the photo I've attached sum up the story. I can share more details later, if anyone's interested, but I'll shut up for now. Thanks, everyone. Have any of you ever bought one of the Circle Jourey books that were featured on J-Merch for awhile?? I have one going with a friend of mine still in the States and one with my husband. Basically, you get this blank book that you can write whatever in. You then give the book to the person (people) as a "gift." They then write whatever and then it goes to the next person, until it eventually goes back to the person who started it. I think this would be a really neat idea to send through the EDA's and eventually to Jewel. I don't expect anything back from her, but it's a neat idea... Just a thought. Sean KNEW thse policies, perhaps better than anyone on this list. However, newly returned list-veteran Trent did not know of this in regards to JewelStock tape #4, as when he left the list a few years back the full intent was to make it available. He just returned and, rightfully so, asked if it had in fact been made available. Trent is 100% innocent of any wrong-doing in this manner and would not be removed from the list. He was just asking a logical question. In a nutshell, it is the people who knowingly go against the policies regarding this subject that I will have to deal with. Innocent parties like Trent are not guilty of any wrong doing. In cases where I do not know for certain if the person knew of these policies, I will, of course, give them a benefit of a doubt. This is a matter that will be dealt with fairly. I hope this clears this up.
