After a three-year wait, Jewel has released her fourth album, This Way. As in 
her previous albums, Jewel maintains her rich, mellifluous folk sound. She 
also continues to pen heavy-handed lyrics pulsing with penetrating meaning. 
All the album's lyrics are written by Jewel. By giving listeners 
personalized, realistic music reflecting her own experiences, Jewel is able 
to produce genuine musical artistry.

The first single is "Standing Still," one of the album's more upbeat tunes 
and also one of the album's best songs. The song is about someone seeking 
love with a person who is nowhere to be found.

Unlike her previous releases, Jewel's This Way adopts a homegrown sound. Her 
previous album, Spirit presented a manufactured studio sound. This Way relies 
on the basics: her emotion-dripping voice and slight background drums, bass 
and guitar. However, her power rests in her emotional lyrics. Jewel's 
authentic sound separates her music from the tunes churned out by other 
female singers. At times, the album's sound straddles the narrow border 
separating Jewel's rare pop/folk style and contemporary country music.

I got 3rd row for Minnesota and 8th row for Toledo.
My Detroit seats aren't very good though, row P.  
I guess I can't complain though, i get to see Jewel 4 times this summer! 

And I just got an internship with WEA so who knows, maybe I'll even get
to meet her! (knock on wood)
