(We're not going to Jones Beach, but thought those of you who are might want to know this :-) We do plan to go to the PNC show, so we'll set up a plan for that soon since we live maybe 10 minutes (if that) from the venue :-) Happy ticket buying ;-) Tammy :-) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 09 Apr 2002 10:16:55 -0400 From: "Amy Phillips" Subject: [EDA] NJ Presale Ok. So I was up before 10, kept reloading the page until finally, right at 10, Ticketmaster put the presale tickets on sale. All my credit card info was already in as a member, so I didn't have to type any of that. I put in the number if tickets. It seems to give me really really good seats...I click Order Tickets..and THEN Ticketmaster tells me they I have to enter my billing info manually. What is that??? So I had to press the back button until I had to click for "look for tickets" again. AHHHH. Then it kept giving me 300 sections...stupid terrace seats, I started panicing...Stupid Ticketmaster. But after reloading it a million times it finally gave me Section 104, Row F. Is row F good?? I really hope so....and I'm not complaining, but I thought these seats were supposed to be not just "presale" seats, but "preferred seating"..wouldn't that make it so tickets on the terrace wouldn't even be an option? I just don't get that....well...at least I have tickets now (we have tickets Melissa) ;)....ok, back to bed, no class til 1. Peace angels. I just called Ticketmaster, and they said that they've put a hold on the one ticket for me, and that they'll cancel the charge if I call back tomorrow. Sorry if I got anyone excited who wanted to buy the ticket. - -Matthew ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Apr 2002 16:05:40 EDT From: Fredsteve@aol.com Subject: [EDA] phew...tickets Hey well I ended up in row H at Massey Hall. I had quite a stressful morning working this out! First of all, the tickets weren't active at 10am, and i was continually refreshing for like 10 minutes becuase i didn't want to miss them, and then it told me that i had broken the rules of the terms agreement and they were blocking me!! I had to sign off and sign on using another account (to get another IP address) and then I ended up getting Row F... which is good... but i didn't fill out of the details in enough time so I had to start over.. and i ended up with Row H. Which is not bad. That's 8 rows back. Massey hall is pretty intimate so that's pretty close I think. The total price was $174 for TWO TICKETS. That's Canadian dollars.. but still... jesus christ that's expensive. I think the reason the tickets are selling so fast is that a lot of venues (including massey hall) are 3000-5000 seaters.. So realistically they can only put aside maybe a couple of hundred (probably less) seats for pre-sale.. becuase they want to leave it open for the general public as well. And with 35 000+ members of JeweLink... that's starting to get competitive.. especially since most JeweLink members are going to want to see Jewel concert this summer. I have to say I hope she sells out this tour. I hope the rush for tickets is as strong when they go onsale to the general public! steve ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Apr 2002 16:05:38 EDT From: EDAEDAEDAEDA@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Who here got front row or close to front row? 2 in center Row 3 for New Jersey and read um & weep! 4 FRONT ROW FOR JONES BEACH!!!! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Apr 2002 16:11:34 EDT From: Tlcathome@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] NJ Presale I had the exact same thing happen for the NJ PNC show!! We'll plan a gathering as it gets closer to the date since we live so close :-) Poor Rob has to fly out at 5am the next morning though (I told him he's better off just staying up all night and sleeping on the plane...) I sure hope to get closer seats or "a seat" for ciara for for the Interlochen concert. Ciara cried when the ticket man told us he could do no better than row y. He suggested she take some binoculars with her. I suppose i have seats and should be grateful to not be on the lawn...however, my daughter just is not happy with row y. I think she will be very happy to see Jewel thru the binoculars...i just have to convince her of this. Can someone explain to me why we would get row Y...when i was at the ticket master booth before the tickets went on sale?? I do not understand how this all works. Should i have purchased these tickets on line to get better seats? Could it be because i bought 4 tickets? I have received the "Jewel Stock" tapes (3). Now i understand much more about Jewel's music when people on this list talk about "when she gets back to her roots and such." We love all her music...past and present but these older songs are incredible!! Ciara loves the yodeling Jewel. We are soooo happy to finally plan to see Jewel live. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Apr 2002 17:44:20 EDT From: EDAEDAEDAEDA@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Michigan tickets In a message dated 4/9/02 5:25:40 PM, sheila56@tir.com writes: << I was at a ticket master booth yesterday before 10am and we got row Y...for the Meadowbrook concert. I had 2 options, orchestra, but to the far right, or center seats in the back. I chose the farther seats cause I'm short and hate being on the side. I still hope that Rochester or Buffalo gets added to either the band or the solo tour. It sucks actually having responsibilities. The J-Team tried to something nice for the fans and now, several jerks, and that's not the word I want to use, are selling them for ridiculous prices. Granted I got excellent tickets for two shows, I've noticed that there are tickets on ebay for a couple of shows that I wanted to go to, but now the close seats are already gone and consequently on ebay. I don't want anybody to buy any tickets from ebay. Jewel will not lose money because the tickets are already bought. As much as I want to buy those good seats, I will not, just to make the point. I just wanted to say what a disgrace. Several people have now taken advantage of the kindness of a few. Sorry for the negative post but I am so furious! Ok..I'm thankful that we got it, but it' was a nightmare!! I went to my job's computer room to do it, a very fast DSL connection, any faster you would read the screen..I got on at 958am and started re loading the page until I got the link..right away it went array, no tickets, no seats nothing! I just couldn't believe it, sold out in 3 minutes...not even Madonna, so of course I called, and they said they couldn't do anything, so I kept trying and trying, until I got through..I'm going to the Ft Lauderdale show, I wanted to go to Orlando also , but after my frustration I said, fuck it.. So I ended up with left orchestra row N. that's like 14 rows back..it's not bad, but it's not what I wanted. I totally hate Ticketmaster..they just are the worst... I really think that when they get heads up of a pre sale they have their little spy's for the ticket brokers and just grab them all for them . The reason I say this is because after I went to the internet and went to the premium tickets sites and they had them , not even front row but 4th for $265.00, how do they do it if it's not even on sale yet??? So I called my local ticket broker and he said he would buy mine at face value and try to get me front row when on sale for about $125 to $150, and that's because he knows me.. Why can't there be another company other than ticketmaster for everything??why such monopoly?? why do all artists give their venues to them?? their % for the artist might be bigger but I had to pay like $10.00 per ticket for convenience charge..what the hell's that??? we are the ones that get screwed here..I hope someday artists find another way to make money of their venues other than ticketmaster.I'm a grown up and I have money to do whatever the hell I want to seat where ever I like..but what about the kids? the ones that have to save to get those $50.00 for a shitty seat? I don't think is fair at all! The general public should get access to more premium tickets..right now it's like 5 to 10% and the broker's like 95 to 90%, why can't it be 50-50?? Ok, there I vent it out...I hope some of us got the front row..I mean really front row, but I doubt it. luv Uri ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 09 Apr 2002 21:34:27 -0400 From: KSco2001@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Jewel Concert in Orlando...Orlando angels Hey Jewel kids, I'm back....this is Kris the Nashville Angel...Well, I've moved from Nashville to Orlando. He have discovered a way to send multiple votes for MTVs TRL. What you did is pick the video, fill in your name, birth date, location and then hit the tab button until it goes to the "submit your vote" button and then you hit the space bar repeadtly. It will sit there and cast vote after vote without having to go back and retype all of the info. (The trick is not to let it go to the next page). The day after he e-mailed the online alanis members, Alanis made it on TRL (which she hadn't been on in awhile, i believe.
