Most of you here know that I generally send on emails from JeweLink to the three versions of this Jewel/EDA mailing list. I do this for the benefit of subscribers here who do not subscribe to that official e-newsletter, and to ensure such information is archived in the online and permanent archives for THIS list (for historical/search/archival benefits). However, some JeweLinks I do not send on for a variety of reasons. Although I did send on the initial JeweLink about the preferred seating system that Jewel management (aka J-team) has set up, I have not sent on the subsequent ones, including one they sent out this morning, nor will I the one they announced that will be sent out tomorrow morning annoucing the pertinent facts needed to take advantage of the first batch of Jewel concerts where preferred seats will be available beginning tomorrow/this week. So, if you want to take advantage of this preferred seating, I suggest that those of you who do not yet subscribe to JeweLink do so right now, as the next JeweLink about preferred seating comes out at 8:00am ET Tuesday morning, April 2nd. You WILL need info in this JeweLink to be able partake in the preferred seating. You can subscribe to JeweLink, the OFFICIAL e-newsletter for fans of Jewel, by sending a blank email to join-jewelink@list.jeweljk.com from any email address(es) you wish to subscribe from. Then be on the lookout for an email from them early tomorrow morning. You can also view selected back issues of JeweLink by visiting the JeweLink Archive at the www.jeweljk.com calendar page. Mike - EDA list manager/owner/big cheese P.S. While it was a quite small event, Jewel's wedding & reception Saturday was a blast! P.P.S. For you Jewel-news only subscribers, more than a few subscribers on the loosemail & digest version of the list fell prey earlier today/last night to an April Fools joke/online announcement at Yahoo News of Jewel's wedding two days ago to Ty Murray. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Apr 2002 16:26:52 -0300 From: "FabioJJ" Subject: Re: [EDA] Tokyo Concerts (kind of long) The Other Woman is a Nina Simone cover, right? While Jackson Browne had a moderate hit with it (#20) in 1978, it was also a hit in the early 1960s for Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons who took it to #16 in 1964 and for Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs who took it to #1 in 1960. ...and it's NOT old. It's just a classic. :-) Mike - the "I'm not old either" angel :-) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Apr 2002 22:46:36 +0000 From: Francois Cartegnie Subject: [EDA] Jewel's Marriage - The Fish, The Truth Hello, Seems my April's fool worked, even after doing some mistakes: Yep, someone noticed that I've posted the article at 5 am, instead of 9 am... because this article was written at 5am and I would go to sleep :) (Anyway, a news press release at 5 am would not make sense, so I did not changed the 9 am hour). Yep, she couldn't fly to the concert on the same day... Even if she left on morning, Japan is few hours ahead, so it's impossible. Yep, the url is on a single directory and not on Yahoo! ... But who could have posted this on Yahoo! ;) The url was tricked enough for common people... Yep, that's not the pic of the marriage. Yep, that's the modified article about the ZZ-top marriage... (as long I don't speak english very well, I needed a basis to do this). There have never been a big fool on this list for past year, so I though it was time :) Sorry to all people that enjoyed the fact of her wedding ;) Maybe you'll care about this day next year ;) Thanks also to the ones who did understand this and gave support to this hoax by confirming this marriage :) *lol* Francois. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Apr 2002 15:48:41 -0500 From: "cymbaline" Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel's Marriage - The Fish, The Truth i still don't see the picture everyone is talking about.... i go to the page and there is no picture. I'm taking a Gender Issues in Lit class and we write a ten page paper and do a ten minute presentation. I was going to use some Jewel poems and some writing by Ani Difranco and Sylvia Plath plus some others. But does anyone have any other ideas I could do? I could use all the help I could get. Also. My english teacher doesn't like Jewel. He hasn't even heard her music. He's only read a couple poems. My name is Missy, and I've been an off and on EDA for a few years. I am 17 years old and live in Spokane Washington. I was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma, cancer. There is the possibility that I get to "Make A Wish" with the Make A Wish Foundation. I'm thinking about wishing for something involved with JEwel, although I'm not quite sure. Does anybody think that is a good idea? Or any other suggestions?
