Halo Matt, Halo Angels I was watching that game also (LET'S GO RED WINGS!!) and the same thing happened. "Is that Jewel? Is that Standing Still?" And they show this chic from far back and I say "Is that Jewel?" So, it was Standing Still, but it wasn't Jewel. I've never heard of Deena Carter before. She was singing it all funny, and the words didn't sound right. Maybe it was just the way I was hearing it though. I dunno. Take care everyone! {\Angel HuGs/} ~Tamarrah - ------------------Original Post--------------- So, I am sitting at home, watching the Red Wings vs the Predators on TV during a break in the periods when I think I hear Standing Still in the background. As I listen between the commentator's comments, I realize that I do hear Standing Still, only Jewel isn't singing it. I finally realized that Deena Carter, who was mentioned as being in attendance of the game, was singing Jewel's song. (and might I add not doing it any justice) What's with that? I understand artists cover other artist's songs, but... I dunno. For some reason it is making me mad, even though it is probably flattery. What do you think? Has anyone heard of Deena Carter covering Jewel before? NO jewel and ty are not engaged, that ring it probably the one from her record lable for selling 20 million records, shes sold 24 million now... but she has more than one ring, she just wears that one a lot.... oh yes and the race car driver question, i suppose not too bad of a question, its a great song, but by now i would think we would know where to find it, i suppose youre new.... what version are you looking for hahaha.... kidding. maybe this is why its so quiet... these arent conversation topics, they are pointless questions, no affense to those who asked them... wait i have a question, who is jewel?!?! HAHAHA kidding! dont get mad at me, someone had to mention this problem sooner or later... alisa - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: Click Here ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 18:34:24 +0000 From: "now and zen girl" Subject: [EDA] my jewel portrait entered in art show hey everyone! i just wanted to share with you that yesterday i entered my jewel portrait, that i did back in december, in a judged student art show here at my college! i was SO nervous, but i did it, somehow... so in like a week there will be a list up and if your name is not on it then that means you didnt get picked to be in the final show and final judging... and then you have to pick up your painting... so WISH ME LUCK!!! eventually i would like to put up the painting so you can all see it. ill let you all know if i do, and ill keep you updated on the art show. alisa - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 14:05:29 EST From: JewelWilcher@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] "Someday Soon" In a message dated 3/26/2002 9:17:32 AM Central Standard Time, kristie.biggs@wamu.net writes: > I'm pretty sure the song was written by Chris LeDeux. (: I'm not too familiar with his music, but I think he is a cowboy-type singer/songwriter. I wouldn't be surprised if he were very much like Chris LeDeux. Garth Brooks is a huge Chris LeDeux supporter afterall. So I'm thinking....Garth opens for Jewel. The people who are posting hoping that Jewel might make her way there on the solo acoustic tour aren't "not paying attention"... not to personally pick on you, but Mike forwards the jewelink posts to the list, so even if you weren't personally sub scribed, you would have read that too.... I guess you weren't paying good enough attention? honestly not to pick on you though, because I don't blame you for not noticing, your human, you're reading a lot of email, you aren't going to take in every grain of what's being said... my whole point is that maybe we should just think before accusing other people of not paying attention. All those other things in point that you said - anyone who hasn't been on the list for very long might not know about her ring, or the garth brook special.... and this is definately the place for them to ask those questions... ~ Sandy http://www.livejournal.com/~angeloflove ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 19:17:49 EST From: JeWeLsTaR386@aol.com Subject: [EDA] solo tour That would be so awesome to see her solo tour, whoever gets to go is so lucky!!
