Last night, I saw Phantom Planet at The Roxy and it was awesome. I've recently become and new fan and I "won" tickets from a radio station even though the tickets aren't too expensive at the Roxy anyway. Anyhoo, I can't beleive I saw so many famous people there! Because I was standing up in this little balcony area near some tables that were "reserved," I was near all the famous people (I didn't know they were for celebrities when I chose the spot). So I'm talking to my friend and I turn around and it's Kirsten Dunst right behind me. I mean, I was thisclose to her. My friend actually accidently bumped her. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but she and her friend were having the funniest conversation about mullets. Hehe. yeah, and we also saw Hanson, American Hi-Fi, and Selma Blair. I think Selma Blair is going out with the drummer though (Jason Swartzman .. I ddidn't spell that right, oh well). But it was awesome. I'm glad I went and saw a concert at the Roxy. I keep regretting not seeing Michelle Branch there. That would have been great. Speaking of music, I'm so happy that two radio stations in the LA area are now playing Jack Johnson! It's so cool to see he's getting out there! I hope he does well. you can check out Phantom Planet at http://www.phantomplanetfamily.com . And then go to music and download some of their songs. I like "California" and "The Local Black and Red" Check them out! I agree with everything Alisa said. Musical complexity, lyrical sophistication are not the reason I like Jewel. You Were Meant for Me is one of the best songs yet written. You don't think so? That's ok. When did we step out of the old EDA days? I'm still in it. I will blindly be devoted to Jewel no matter what. Yeah, I'm naive. Heck, does anyone else wear those WWJD bracelets? You know those What Would Jewel Do ones they sell at places like Wal-Mart. The blonde bombshell deity commands my obedience at all times. I know not many of you would go this far, but that's how I feel. (; For those that talk about how simplistic some of her songs are, why didn't you come up with it? It's not about the chords G, C, D....it's about how they are used. Yeah, I know Jewel wouldn't consider this healthy, but that's ok too. - - Wilcher ~Jewel's not our fan, we're hers~ Deity-Jewel Empress-Tori Queen-Sarah Disciples-Dido/Patty ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V7 #87 **************************
