[Fairy Angel Subject: [EDA] NJC -- Re: M2M teenybopper bullshit, Cymbie's talents Hmmm, the enormously talented Cymbaline has managed to effect a calming influence upon my thinking, and I shall therefore give the teenybopper crap M2M peoples another chance to not suck. But only because 1) they are likely to open for Miss K when (if) she comes to a venue near my home, and in the interests of not hating the concert I must endeavor to at least endure whatever residual suckiness they might still possess; 2)Cymbie says so, and I still want her autograph for the milk-nose-burping thing; 3)Miss Uri likes 'em and Uri decimates all. There, I said it. I still think, or maybe hope, most of us are too old (or perhaps too wise is a better choice of terms) for "stuff" of that ilk. Whiskey, Love, and Steel, Joe Yahoo! Hi again! By the way, Jewel (Standing Still) is currently at the number 2 spot on Highveld Stereo's Top 4 at 4, which means that "Standing Still" is currently the second most requested song in the oke that does the Top 4 @ 4 show! Prety neat, huh? Koos van Zyl The S. I've been off this list for more than a year (the volume got a bit too high and my time too low). Um.... welcome back? :) Say, when did this list become unmoderated? I'll be in Canada June 11th until July 11th, and I was hoping Jewel would be performing in Canada while I'm there, since that'll probably be the only time I'll be able to so her live. I was absolutely DELIGHTED when I saw she'll be in Toronto on June 28th... until I checked my initerary again. On the 28th I'll be on board a train, from Montreal to Ottawa, and I arrive in Ottawa at 5PM. Now something tells me I'll be hard pressed getting to Toronto before 8PM, and even if I managed, I'll be hard pressed to find a good place to stand (unless the venues there works different than they do here). So I'm not that lucky after all..... What does the tickets cost over there, anyway? If any of yer C'nadian EDAs want to meet up or something with the only friggin' EDA in the whole Africa, drop me a message. I'll be in the following towns/cities: Halifax, Antigonish, Sydney, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Niagara Falls, in that order. :) 'til Later! So I'm not that lucky after Massey Hall is a seated venue. Nice acoustics for rock-type gigs, second only to Bathurst Street Theatre. They also (and very very oddly for Toronto) seem to start on-time these days, so with an opener, Jewel might hit the stage as early as 9:30PM. If you're buying tickets try to avoid the sides of the balcony as there are a lot of obstructions. It is a sterling venue for concerts though, I fondly recall a couple of wonderful Tori gigs there (including one with centre floors, 2nd row -- Praise Ito! ;-) ) > What does the tickets cost over there, anyway? If any of yer C'nadian EDAs Massey doesn't list this gig yet (they are notoriously slow at posting listings) nor does Tickemaster.CA, but I would figure tickets are about $35-60 CDN, most likely at the higher end of that. With Atlantic saying they're not even thinking of releasing a next single until mid-March (maybe even early April!), I can just shake my head and think they're digging their own grave. If the next single flops, just like 'Down So Long' did during the SPIRIT-era, it'll be two albums in a row that Atlantic has screwed up for Jewel. I can't believe the single has been out for over half a year. Almost every other artist who had a single out around the same timelines as 'Standing Still' is in the middle of their second single. But, yeah, anyway...if the album can't get any more successful single because of SS-burnout, Atlantic doesn't have anyone but themselves to blame. scott.evans [[mind is DISCONNECTED. but my heart is WIRED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Michelle branch, maren ord, m2m, Vanessa Carlton...All singer songwriters...All who play and write their own music but are seen as POP crap by uninitiated and unaware people who only look at their age. I for one have heard M2M's new album (It came out in asia ages ago..so I downloaded it) and its a real step forward into making more adult music. So I love that, and I cant wait for them to open for Jewel...Lets hope its true.... And Yeah..Good to see other M2M fans on the board...
