For a min. there, I thought it was some trashy 80s band (no offence). When I found out who they were, I was like woohoo!! I like pop music. Not too much, but i'm sure it'd be exciting. I mean, who doesn't go to a britney spears concert and NOT have fun? Ok, i guess i'm getting off topic here. Anyway... I DLed a few of their songs and they're really good. I almost didn't want to go see Jewel this yr around 'cause of the opening band. Now that I know who they are, i'm really looking forward to it. :) I would also like to say that I totally agree with my very good friend Alisa! Her email made me think about how true she was in saying us EDAs are the ones who have changed. I have to say I am ashamed of myself for judging Jewel on her apearance the past few months, what with the messy hair and wild outfits. Thats not what makes Jewel... Her voice and talent is! And for a while there, I guess I forgot. Alisa made me realize that i was going way out of line, and helped me come back to the point where Jewel's her voice and lyrics are all that matter, like when she barely started. So thank you alisa for getting me back to that point, and I hope she's made you all realize the same thing. To me right now is that, I don't care if Jewel makes it to number one on the charts. Though it would be great if she did! To me, and i'm sure to alisa as well, she'll always be number one! We don't need some lame countdown to tell us who's good and who's not. Anyway... thats enough from me. Till next time... ~Jewel Fan~ http://www.angelfire.com/sk/killorgeteven (long story about the name of the URL. Jewel should find a talented singer-songwriter and have them open for her. Bonus points for being you and/or unsigned. Look at her list of guest artists on jeweljk.com, for instance. Lisa Sanders, Joy Eden Harrison, CIndy lee Berryhill, Jillian Speer. Nicole The Watchful Angel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Feb 2002 22:04:54 -0500 From: "Sheila" Subject: [EDA] Venue's Meadowbrook is an outdoor venue. There is limited seating with a roof overhead...the rest is lawn seats. Interlocken's Kresge theatre is sort of outdoors...there is a roof overhead but the side walls taper down towards the stage...i believe the back of the stage is open to the water (lake). Interlochen School of Performing Arts has a web site. Try it with . org. It's a very nice campus . It's up north , lots and lots of big hugh trees ...we really enjoyed our time there. They also have a drama theatre...we watced the actors rehearsing in there. Seems like i remember something about Jewel going there to study opera and they finally allowed her to also study drama. Normally, you can only study one or the other. I wonder if Jewel changed this for all who attend this school? Interlochen is where i plan to take Ciara in her 3rd grade summer. They have a wonderful summer camp program for children. I remember when we went there...there were 3rd graders doing sculpting with hugh chunks of clay...there was a live sheep posing for the kids. Some of the dorms are small cabins. Mostly we saw ballet dancers everywhere. At different sections of the lawn areas, we saw orchestra's practicing their instruments. In one of the school hallways, behind a glass wall case...we saw articles of Jewel from different magazines...it was a large layout. This theatre sure did not seem very big...these tickets are going to go fast!! This place is in the country...but near a city called Traverse City. Lots of college kids. A very popular town...many people go there. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V7 #78 **************************
