She gave a flawless performance of SS. She put her guitar aside for Break Me and TNWW. Ive never seen TNWW performed live before...it was surreal! Never before has Jewel held such a powerful presence on stage. After her interview she performed Cowboy Waltz...it was good to hear that song again. She followed it up with LMJLMA. This is a horrible album. A right stinker. Slick, vapid, soulless, pompous and twee. Producer Dann Huff's credits range from Megadeth to Faith Hill. Which in itself tells a story. There's off-the-shelf guitar licks, simpering vocals, even a bit of Eastern exotica (thanks Madonna). Pounding choruses. Meaningless sincerity. Epic nonsense. A cartoon doll. Just an example of how some bands end up touring together who you'd never think would....Metallica and Guns N Roses. :-) Granted it didn't last long, but it was still an official tour. I know both of them are rock bands, but the likelihood of them touring together (due to artistic differences, personality conflicts, different fan bases, etc) was pretty remote. That's why it didn't last long. Can anyone think of any other strange pairings they've seen or heard about? Festivals don't count of course. Otherwise there would be tons. Has to be a regular tour. Opening band/headliner format. Also the possibility of Michelle and Jewel touring together does seem very real since both Metallica and Guns N Roses were headliners of their own at the time. Since Michelle is in the middle of her own headlining tour now, I think it would mirror what Metallica and GNR did (somewhat). I've been to well over 200 concerts, and I can't think of any others that were strange pairings.
