Hi, since I know that Jewel will be going on tour soon, I decided that it would be great if we could all show her how much we appreciate her. The idea I had in mind was a fanbook. A fanbook is a book filled with letters, drawings, poetry, etc created especially for a celebrity. So, if enough people like this idea and send in letters and stuff, I would like to put together a special fanbook for Jewel. Jewel has served as a huge inspiration to me and I'm sure many of you as well. Anyway, if you are interested and want to contribute, below are the things you can send. 1. A letter (typed in an email to me but written directly to Jewel, or a scanned neatly handwritten letter to make it more personal) Also, if you send in a letter, you may also send in a picture of yourself and I will add it below your letter. 2. A drawing-of Jewel or anything related to Jewel 3. poetry-please make it somewhat related to jewel or something inspired by Jewel 4. Any other creative ideas you have that you think will be appropriate for a fanbook. Everything I receive will be printed out and put together in one big book for Jewel..something she can take around with her and read whenever she has time. *If you have aol, you may send in drawings, scanned letters, and pictures in regular email or as an attachment. If you do not have aol, please send as an attachment. Send everything to mc1Starr2000@aol.com Thanks, Tanya ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2002 21:40:58 -0500 From: "cymbaline" Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel Fanbook! I just want to say that poetry is not a good idea, because for legal reasons, Jewel is not allowed to read anyone's poetry or anything of the like... It's been discussed on the list before and I'm sure Mike or MrBB can elaborate more on the topic. cymbie tree hugger - -- when night falls it's dawn one must reach for. - -a. camus ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2002 21:55:35 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel Fanbook! Tanya wrote (about possible inclusion in and EDA-made fanbook for Jewel): >3. poetry-please make it somewhat related to jewel or something inspired by >Jewel While the overall fanbook idea in general is of course a good one and doable, I know from previous dealings with Jewel's management (including things similar to this idea), that Jewel would not be able to receive the fanbook if it included any unsolicited creative writings (poems, stories, lyrics). It's all for legal reasons preventing the possibility of lawsuits should Jewel someday write a song or a poem that someone feels is too close to what they themselves wrote etc etc. Other than that, sounds like a great idea you should pursue and make happen. :-) Good luck! Keep your eyes open and stay focused. Concentrate! It may take a minute, but suddenly it will come to you, kind of like those Magic Eye things, but obvious. Don't give up until you get it.. It will be very clear to you.. It's a wonderful thing! =) scott.evans [[mind is DISCONNECTED. but my heart is WIRED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo!
