I'm saying goodbye!! I've been a list member since late 96. I've lost all interest in the digest and in Jewel. I just don't like what i read on this digest and Jewel's music has slumpt to nothing for me. I find the new album nothing but lame dribble. It can't even compare to POY. I just can't waste my time on it anymore. Thanks to the EDA's who taped her live shows and kept her past alive. I might come back when Jewel gets back to her roots. Until then, I'll continue to work on my time machine.lol Peace George ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Dec 2001 13:37:41 -0800 (PST) From: Mirko Serkovic Subject: [EDA] Merry Christmas Hi! I'd be almost tempted to say that "Standing Still" was the > "missing" track off of Ged's 'My Favourite Headache' album :-P > > I was aware that Peter Collins (producer for 'Power Windows,' 'Hold Your > Fire,' 'Counterparts,' and 'Test for Echo') produced Jewel's first album, > but I don't know of any other Rush connection. Has Jewel ever mentioned > anything about Rush being an influence? > > Thanks for reading! > I am going to pick up that cd tomorrow (It's my BDay present...one of many I plan on getting myself.:P). A number of other songs from that disc also sound like they could fit on Ged's album. And yep, Peter co-produced Jewel's "Spirit" (the one with "Hands" on it). I don't know about the Rush influence, but I would *love* her to do some vocals on the next Rush album! (Even Ala' Aimee Mann!) Well, at least I am not the "only" Rush fan out there who likes Jewel. BTW..speaking of female singers...Ged mentioned on the MFH promo tour that he liked Alanis Morrissette.(This was in one of the radio interviews on the internet. I can't recall which one.) I could see him liking someone like Jewel. James ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V6 #721 ***************************
