There are procedures that you can fix teeth without braces, I think someone told me it's one hell of an operation where they literally pull the teeth out and place it in the "correct" space and pull out molars to make space for them.. Probably you have to be tube feed for about a couple of months or more in order for it to heal.. I am not one to criticize people for what they do and don't do, but if I was Jewel, in those 2 years she kinda took off, I would have gotten braces . Her teeth with years passing are only going to get worse. I saw some pics that an eda took at an intimate concert ,(don't remember the name nor the city) he took pretty closed up pics of Jewel and there was one that you can see that not only she has one teeth crooked, but all of the bottom ones are on top of each other . I know what that's like , I had them worse than that for years and years until recently . Never bothered me though, I still hooked up fine and never prevented me from smiling...but, one day after I was released from the taliban (aka my ex husband), I looked at myself in the mirror and I thought that now that I really didn't have to answer to anyone and I could do whatever I wanted, I could make my teeth straight...why not? I didn't do it 'cause I felt they were super ugly, I did it to try something different and too see how would I look with braces . It turned out that was the best decision I've ever made in my life.. after 4 molars pulled out and 2 yrs later, I have the most incredible perfect smile (sorry to brag, but hell I do) Only took 2 yrs and with the accelerated program you can do it in a year and1/2 , but it hurts like hell, it's terrible terrible, you can't eat hard stuff, the inside of your mouth gets scratched and you bleed and you have to wear wax... damn, it was one hell of a sacrifice..but I did it and now I'm proud. They came out so good that at least 3 of my friends (all over 25) did it and one of my sisters (38 yrs old) did it too. There's no age for that. But I do understand that for artistic reasons she might not want to do it. Freddy Mercury (Queen) never got his oversized overbite and crooked teeth fixed 'cause he feared it would change his voice or something like that. Jewel needs to work on her Madonna-esque fake British accent...Madonna still has her beat. 4. Of the hour long show (or 40-45 minutes once you remove the commercials), Jewel was given a whopping 3 1/2 minutes of talk time. 5. One of the 25 most intriguing "people" isn't even a person...that being Harry Potter. Interesting. A figment of someone's imagination is now one of the most intriguing PEOPLE of 2001. Pretty frightening actually. 6. Madonna made a very good point in her segment. While there are significant parts of Jewel's video that resemble Tara's, I think if you look hard enough with almost any video, you can find bits and pieces that may resemble a scene from another video. Britney was wearing a white lacy shirt that looks like the one that Jewel was wearing. Britney was shown driving in a classic car and her facial expression looked exactly like Jewel's when she was driving her car. There was also a fire that kept popping up in the Britney video. In the middle of the Britney video they show a broken down car smoking, and a man lifting the hood of it just like the SS video. And the scenery in the video looks like the scenery in SS.
