I too think an artist known for playing guitar should, well, PLAY THE GUITAR on her CD! This goes down as one of those "duh" sort of things. I have no clue why she didn't play it on the CD itself, that is, if she didn't. Has this been verified? I think she played on Spirit, so why wouldn't she on this? Jewel looks to either stay pretty much steady in her album sales this week, or increase slightly (she's heading toward a total of approximately 120 000 again this week). She's in at #20 right now, right behind Michael Jackson (they're split by only by 30 or so CD's actually). At this point the chart is only 37% in... so anything could happen... but things look good so far. It looks like the album is steadying out and should enjoy nice sales throughout Christmas! Oh.. and it's the first week of the month so the certifications should come through this week (ie - whether or not she's gone gold or platinum). She'll at least have gone gold (the album will have sold close to 400 000 copies by the end of this week)... hopefully she's gone Platinum! Also, Standing Still entered the CHR/POP airplay Top 30 last night, coming in at #26. The song is still increasing steadily at around +200 spins per week. It's been increasing at that level for the past two months. That's what we call a MAJOR slow burner. The song could still be a hit though. I hope it starts to blow up soon though. Another little thing I noticed was that at Amazon.com now if you order Joy A Holiday Collection online now you get a free stream of all the album tracks as well as a special video of Winter Wonderland - I wonder what the video is!
