I've been telling my visitors to vote for Jewel as Best Female Performer, since that'll be easier for her to win than Artist of the Year.. And I would be lying if I said this post wasn't selfish in nature.. I'm trying to win Best Online Fan Site for Planet Jewel.. The poll is a complete write-in, so my chances of winning are better than usual.. If you could put the name and URL in that field ("Planet Jewel http://jewel.tanweb.com") I would much appreciate it.. I think they're cutting off voting in a few days to meet deadlines, so please do it as soon as possible.. Thanks! 03. Best Female Performer: Jewel 19. I was just watching Jewel perform again... and I noticed that she sang the last 2 lines wrong. Not a big deal... but just thought i'd point it out. "and do you need me, like i need you too And do you want me, like I want you" She said "and do you want me, like I want you too, and do you need me like I need you (too)" She added that "too" but who cares. Get a lil mixed up there Jewel? lol.. I always talk to her as if she could read my posts! ~Jewel Fan~ http://www.angelfire.com/sk/killorgeteven (long story about the name of the URL. Subject: [EDA] Chrissy is right - VH1 Just wanted to commend Chrissy for actually going back and watching Politically Incorrect to see the differences I was referring to. You have very admirable qualities. I just wish more of the list was like yourself. By the way, Jewel's sang parts of that song off key now in almost every single performance. Something's wrong with her voice I think. I like your greasy and knotty reference too...hehe...that's pretty original, wish I had thought of it! :-) >I'm not feeling this new band either-- The electric guitar was way too >loud-- It kept sounding like the song was going to end early-- I know >Jewel is an aweome live performer-- but it didn't really show tonight-- >I think her best live performance of SS was on the Garth Brooks special. - ----------------------------- Yup, you are so right! Although she sang off key during that one too. I think you've summed it up very well...Jewel is lacking passion now. I FELT No Doubt's performance. I FELT Nelly Furtado's performance. I even felt Creed's performance! But with Jewel, nothing. And it's been that way for some time now. She's not into as much anymore as she once was...maybe she's too pre-occupied with Ty? Thinking about the aftershow time with him maybe? Anyway, the DJ said that was Jewel...and asked the caller what she thought of Jewel. She said "she probably smells" to which the DJ responded "you don't like her?". The girl said to the DJ "No, she looks like she would smell"...maybe those saying she should do something about her look aren't so far off the mark.... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Dec 2001 00:49:29 EST From: caligryl@aol.com Subject: [EDA] NJC: I WAS AT THE VH1 AWARDS Hey Everyone! Well, I just got home from the VH1 My Music Awards! I was invited though the Creed Fan list, anyway I wish I could have seen the whole show but I didn't. I was in the pit for the Creed Performance, I was 10 feet away from the band! I also got a drum stick! wooooohooo! Anyway, I just wanted to share the joy, the guys were awesome! I've missed just about every attempt to see Jewel on T.V that there was. The only thing I actually caught part of was her singing Jesus Loves you on Kilborn, which I thought was awsome. Otherwise I can't catch a break here. VH-1 music awards - turned it on after she performed because I was out to dinner (Missed it) Tonight show - fell asleep during the first lame interview, who ever it was. The funny thing though was that I woke up with the television, playing the Tonight show for the second time in the night (The 2 or 3 A.M show when they replay that nights episode) I tried to stay awake and wait for Jewel but I fell asleep again and missed it. Conan O'Brien - flat out forgot. I got home late from a night of drink . . . uh, I mean studying until about 3 in the morning then read the posts the next day. Kilborn - forgot what time he came on and turned it on just as she started the song. Missed the interview though. All other television apearances - I forgot again. Lots of stress right now to remember all the appearances like TRL. I tried but I don't watch TRL so I don't know when it's on usually, or I'm not home. But that's why I have you guys to let me know what happened and how she sounded and looked and what she played (Good or bad). So for that I appreciate this list. Thanks.
