If you have a fallback plan, you'll fallback." Now, this philosophical approach appeared again, years later, in Jewel's book ~ as far as I know this Interview reportage was the first reference to it. In working with young artists over the years, I've quoted it several times as sage advice for those who want to live their dreams. It's not surprising that a big Jewel fan like Michelle Branch would choose to hold to Nedra's words. peace, Adrian (the media-totin'-how-IS-Cindy-Lee-Berryhill-Angel) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Nov 2001 13:24:45 -0600 From: "Sarah Dowling" Subject: [EDA] NJC: Lookin For a Few Good Readers Hey, guys... This has absolutely nothing to do with Jewel, but I was wondering if any of you literary angels out there would be interested in editing a one page short-short story (that's what they're called when they're under 1500 words). Anyway, it's an interesting read, and I have to send it to contest in two days, so I need all the help I can get! Now the chart is 80% in and she's at #21. She's at close to 100 000 copies sold presently, and looks to sell close to 120 000 copies by the time the whole chart is reported.. which is about a 15% decrease from last week, and very good. The big drop is due to the fact that a lot of new albums entered the charts this week as well as a lot of seasonal albums and greatest hits collections making gains (xmas shopping)... hopefully she can push forward into the Top 20 by the time the chart is done. I'll let you know. The market is extremely competitive right now but she looks to be holding on reasonably well, considering radio is ignoring her single. I think most of us here probably have some sort of problems with our lives or else we wouldn't be here. Jewel does indeed heal the soul with her words and philosophies. I listened to Pieces of You and she really does make me feel better. She somehow magically gives me hope and inspiration. She makes me want to see the world from a differnt point of view, a more positive perspective. Makes me want to be just like her or at least near her. Maybe we all need a little Jewel in our lives from time to time. I've been reading some of your posts and to hear some of you have been here for 2 - 5 years really made me think. First I thought, these people are obsessed! Did I just join a cult? However, after listening to Pieces Of You CD I realize that you are here because you like something about Jewel. Whether it be her music, her philosophies, or her boobs, you like something about her. Is this wrong? Wrong to like something so much it becomes an obsession? I don't know... But I go to church every Sunday and see all these people seemingly obsessed with God. Is that bad? I don't know... If you have guilty thoughts, that you want to believe in something, and it makes you feel good, well then that's not so bad. ===== Your favorite Geni,Jeannie DjinnVisit My Yahoo Profile: http://profiles.yahoo.com/jeanniedjinn Yahoo!
