Subject: [EDA] NJC: Planet of the Apes I just watched the video for this, and I wanted to get others opinions on how they interpreted the ending. I'm sure there are quite a variety of hypotheses going around, so I'd like to see what most people are going with. I have my own thoughts about it, but before giving them away, I'd like to see what others think. It certainly raised some questions though. I think there's always going to be flaws with the plot, and any supposed hyposthesis of an ending, but I'm still interested. You can reply privately if you want, unless you just prefer to let everyone see what you write. Subject: [EDA] Conan Ok, so it's been 6 years, I knew it was a long time. :-) Jewel looked tired, exhausted, frustrated, and like she wasn't having much fun....sadly. She seemed uncomforable in that skirt too, of course with it being so short I'm sure many girls would find it uncomfortable, especially trying to sit down in it as she was at the end. That part I can understand. But her tiredness, etc. kind of worries me. She could just be tired of singing that song, and I wouldn't blame her, but I think it goes beyond that. Maybe she's not happy with the band? After see the new DVD, and how the old band fed off of each other's energy, then after watching the band tonight, it doesn't even compare. Who knows what's going to happen, but at this point, nothing will surprise me. I just hope she doesn't continue on as things are if she's not enjoying herself, for it will only lead to worse things. Jewel uses the same lines in a lot of songs! She lives for repeating things. lol. How many times did she say "Disco, Neon, deity" in This Way (album)?? Not only that, I recall her saying "are you only half alive or have you always been this inarticulate?" She said that in another song. So... it wouldn't make a difference if Jewel repeated things, 'cause she does it all the time. ~Jewel Fan~ http://www.angelfire.com/sk/killorgeteven (long story about the name of the URL. Hospitals have admitted scores more since the water-borne disease broke out in early November in the Kazaure and Wudil districts of Nigeria's northern Jigawa state, hospital sources said. "At least 10 people, most of them children, have died within the one hour or so that you have been here," a senior medical officer at Kazaure hospital... A similar outbreak of cholera in neighboring Kano state west of Jigawa killed at least 200 people two weeks ago, officials said. Any EDA is free to donate ANY AMOUNT of money ( 1.00 5,000 whatever you want and feel you can afford) with their name on it. At the deadline date, the money is counted and used at our site. Then, usually one or a few EDA's vonunteer to create a card for jewel. Usually, it is large, and our names are placed inside of the card telling her happy holidays and all that stuff. I know... last year (or some other year) it was given to heron "The View" as a gift. Not only are we participating in the HGH project, but we are giving something to Jewel she will OBVIOUSLY appreciate. I am sure anything physical that we could give Jewel, she would already have/ or wouldnt hesitate to buy herself. This is perfect. Also, the card is personal, and something from us she treasures. She even said so on storytellers :) Anyway, I haven't heard anyone mention the Christmas thing, and I wasn't sure if it would be to late. WHo was "in charge" last year, that was to long ago for me to remember. Anyway, I hope we can all think of something. I would be happy to help, but I work 2 jobs and go to college... I wouldn't want to NOT have time for it.. and something fall through. Anyway, feel free to discuss this, MrBB, MIke... what now? LOL. Also, I feel that whenever Jewel is in a studio, she seems a little stressed, and just not in "top form". I was disappointed in the Leno performance, and now in the conan one. Yes, at the end, she DID seem upset, or uncomfortable about something. When it was over, she stood up immediately to say something to conan, the exchanged a few words, and then he raised his arms in the air, sort of like "whatever i dont know" Anyway, this is JUST my observations :) Yeah, i dont like the new band either. actually, I don't like them at all. Alright enough... Amanda ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V6 #603 ***************************
