She was walking around playing with her stuffed snake, Fred when I heard her singing a familiar tune. "oh you want me and i want you too, standing still" She's three. Give her credit on the lyrics, hehe. I was like "Maia!!! Where did you learn that?!?!?!" I still don't know. .:.:haizee:.:. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 00:06:55 EST From: RachKat926@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Garth Show Jewel in a concert setting is 20,000 times better than Jewel with a studio audience or even in a studio. I have to admit, I was disappointed that she sang Standing Still, but it was expected and understandable. But that "Someday Soon" song was WONDERFUL. Her facial expressions when she sings to an "interested" are great and add so much. It was a good song for her to sing-- for obvious reasons. The sailor hat-- LOL. Overall-- it was a great performance-- probably will help out in album sales. It aides her in appealing to a different and wider audience. For one, my brother watched it and liked Jewel though never having watched her before. He just watched for Garth, but enjoyed Jewel as well (never mind the fact that he thinks she's hot.) I wouldn't go as far as Derrick and call Jewel COUNTRY- and wrap it up with that. Listen to the album-- there are 3 or 4 varieties/genres there. (love songs, rocking out, country, middle eastern, etc.) Broad generalizations will not fit Jewel anymore.. obviously. Anyways, I'm glad I caught it-- I've been having trouble catching Jewel's tv performances. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!! Please be safe. ~Rachel~ Check out my LiveJournal at http://www.livejournal.com/~rachkat926/ "How true it is that words are but vague shadows of the volumes we mean." I don't know much about her except I was told she was at one time homeless sleeping in a trash container... Then one day someone important heard her singing a song titled "Gods Hands"...and helped her get a start!" - ---- LOL..... ummm.... no, it wasn't a trash container, and it wasn't Hands. cymbie tree hugger - -- when night falls it's dawn one must reach for. - -a. camus ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V6 #598 ***************************
