Hope nobody takes offense to that comment. 'This Way' is produced just as much as 'Spirit' was. There isn't a song on this CD that I don't like. That's my take on the latest accomplishments of Jewel! The moves come as parent company Warner Music Group (WMG) says goodbye to two executives, including producer David Kahne, who helmed Paul McCartney's new Capitol set, "Driving Rain." WMG has also shuttered dance imprint Strictly Rhythm U.K. and its Groovilicious U.K. subsidiary after just nine months of operation. Amos -- whose six Atlantic albums have sold 5.5 million units in the U.S., according to SoundScan -- is negotiating a deal with Epic. Her exit from the label is described as a mutual decision. Despite positive reviews from critics and fans alike, Amos' latest Atlantic set, "Strange Little Girls," is languishing at No. 146 on The Billboard 200 in its eighth week, and has yet to place a single on any of Billboard's airplay charts. Amos is on tour in North America through Nov. 20 in San Diego; 15 European dates begin Nov. 27 in Paris. Meanwhile, Collective Soul's manager, Farshid Arshid, says the group asked to be released with two albums left on its contract. The band, which will record its next album before shopping for a new deal, has sold close to 6 million units in the U.S. Its final Atlantic set, "Blender," opened at No. 22 on The Billboard 200 in October 2000; the best-of set "7even Year Itch: Greatest Hits 1994--2001" debuted at No. 50 on the same chart in October. As for Poe, manager Paul Fishkin says she was stunned to be let go since Atlantic had just picked up an option on her next album and was getting ready to release a new single from current set "Haunted." That album topped out at No. 115 on The Billboard 200 last November and featured the single "Hey Pretty," which hit No. 13 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. >> www.geocities.com/fabiojj <|> BRASIL <|> Jewel+Sarah << >> www.jewelbrasil.f2s.com <|> BRASIL <|> Fa-clube Jewel << >> www.jeweljk.com <|>JEWEL <|> official website << >> music <|> STANDING STILL <|> Jewel <|> THIS WAY << >> http://www2.fanscape.com/jewel/streetteam/standingstillaudiord.asp << ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Nov 2001 18:51:58 -0200 From: "FabioJJ" Subject: Re: [EDA] GAVIN CHARTS No, she's #8 on the Hot AC, not #12!! Ciara likes all the high voice parts....don't know if i ever mentioned it but Ciara loves opera singing. Jewels singing has a calming effect on Ciara, well for most of the songs anyway. Ciara really likes SS but she said her favorite song of all is still "Hands." I don't think there is a song on this cd that i would let her sing in public though. Thats okay, i like it that Jewel's voice is much varied and this is great practice for Ciara to sing along with. This is not much of a review of the new cd but i just need more time to know. Here is what Mr.BB says in Jewelink October 12, 2001: t's the moment you've all been waiting so patiently for. The official domestic (North America) tracklist for Jewel's new album "This Way," is as follows in the correct running order: 1. Standing Still 2. Jesus Loves You 3. Everybody Needs Someone Sometime 4. Break Me 5. Do You Want To Play 6. Till We Run Out Of Road 7. Serve The Ego 8. This Way 9. Cleveland 10. I Won't Walk Away 11. Love Me Just Leave Me Alone 12. The New Wild West In addition to the above studio recordings, all of which were co-produced by Jewel and Dann Huff in Nashville, the new album will also contain a few bonus solo acoustic live recordings. These live recordings will differ in various areas of the world but on the North American version they will be: 13. Grey Matter 14. Sometimes It Be That Way In The United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the album will be released on Tuesday, November 13th. It will be released a bit earlier in Japan on October 31st. For collectors, some of the non-domestic versions, including the Japan release, will feature a different live version of "Sometimes It Be That Way" and the additional live track "A Long Slow Slide." Jewel's new album will also be released in a limited edition double album vinyl set for all you turntable audiophiles and for those who miss the days of 12" record albums. The vinyl edition contains the same tracks as the domestic CD spread over four LP sides. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V6 #577 ***************************
