Hey Guys Jewel had a GREAT debut on the Japanese album charts this week. She debuted at #9 (according to Soundscan Japan)!! I have no idea how many copies she sold - but #9 sounds pretty damn good to me! I'll try to find some more info, and let you know - but that's a pretty high debut in my opinion. Jewel in fact debuted at #30 on the Japanese Album Charts. She was 9th on the new releases chart (so the 9th best new release to debut)... but 30 on the big chart! Still, don't be disappointed, because #30 is still excellent! Don't forget - Jewel's audience in Japan is a lot smaller... so a Top 40 debut is still very strong. Think about smaller English bands like Travis and Coldplay... they are huge over in England, but generally only have a smaller success in the US.. but they're still considered very successful bands over here.
