If you don't know someone, aren't with the band or crew, radio stations, press, media, and don't give anyone any sexual favors, then odds are you won't go backstage. Some radio stations have contests for passes, but you'd have to win them...good luck! LOL Pit seats.... Seems to be some confusion on this...some shows have "pit *seats*". Some shows have "front row" seats. Some shows have a "pit". Depends on the venue really. Pit is always up front, no matter what. Sometimes for more mellow shows, like Jewel, some venues will add temporary chairs to make "new" rows in a sense, in what would have been an actual "pit" had it been say a Limp Bizkit concert. Other venues don't do this...so everyone just stands. It's still a pit, but I doubt you'd see any moshing going on during Who Will Save Your Soul...haha. Then again....I saw moshing at a Duncan Shiek show once, so you never know! So if there is a pit at a certain venue, seats or no seats, and you get a ticket that has an actual section #, seat #, row # then odds are, you aren't in the PIT. However, sometimes venues get with the ticketing agency and DO actually adjust the tickets just for that show...for example...one time for a Jewel show my ticket read something like "Pit, Row 5, Seat 2". This confused me at first, but what happened was they added temporary chairs for that show. So the "section" this time was actually the pit. So where the pit usually was, now contained 6 row of chairs. So the "normal" front row, was now row 7. Got it? :-) Most of the time though, if you are in a pit, all the ticket will say is something like PIT GA. GA = general admission, meaning you'll be standing up in that section. I probably just confused people even more...oh well. STEVE ALL THE WAY!!!!! i dont think i had pit seats... but... the second time i went to see jewel it was an open seating... basically there were no seats, not even chairs, just grass. but i made it to the very front row front and center with thousands of people squishing everything below my neck hahahaha... well i got there by being basically really rude and charging through people... it was an all day 5 hour concert in golden gate park back in '99... so my goal was to be in the front as i was driving to the concert... never thought it would really come true... but my friend jessie did. she made sure we were in the front. there were these girls with their picnic blanket all spread out right in front of the stage, we laughed and went and stood right on it and they yelled at us, then some guys behind us said to them, " you better watch out cus JEWEL IS COMMING!!" we thought that was hilarious... so we held our place and we held on to that fence with all our strength... it was so tiring keeping that spot, especially when i realized i had the best spot in the entire place...
