I unsubscribed from the list for a while there - I just didn't have time to read the digests anymore, what with uni work and all. I subscribed to Jewel-News instead, but it's just not the same! While i certainly didn't miss all the bickering (damn, it was good not to have to read that! hehe), i did miss all the great discussions and all your reactions to the new single etc. So yeah - I MISSED YOU GUYS!!! How ya been? I was so excited to get my first Jewel digest in a couple of months this morning! Which was really wierd, its been a long time since i was quite so thrilled at the prospect hahaha. So, "Standing Still". It's just FABULOUS is it not? Gotta be one of the most radio-friendly songs i've ever heard from Jewel - so i'm guessing it'll do well. I don't think we have the single in New Zealand yet - still gotta ring up a few radio stations and check - but i have heard it, and listened to it quite a few (ie, far too many) times. Can't wait to see the video. But of the new songs - i'd have to say "A Long Slow Slide" is my fave. "While the white of the curtain closing crushes your heart The inertia of lonliness, tears your flesh apart" - - Oh yeah, that's so good! I seem to have a thing for Jewel's tragic love songs. I learnt that after reccommeding a few songs to a friend the other day (like, Break Me, 1000 Miles away, Nicotine Love, Grey Matter) - when i asked her what she thought of them, she goes "um, well, they're all a bit DREARY aren't they?" Haha... well, i suppose they are in a way. Next time i'll reccommend "Kiss your ass" and "Race car driver" i think - lol. And, Louise! Meeting Jewel!!... that's so unfair girl! Hi angels , I just so happened to have caught TRL today, since it was only a accident because i was under the impression she was gonna be there tomorrow, but thankfully i did have a tape on hand so i was pretty happy, i loved the video expecially the close ups of her face and the concert scene, wow jewel looked really freaky liek she was staring so hard she was gonna eat that little Kid on the sidewalk..i was like man jewel..Blink for God sake. Having blue in the video also made it pretty cool, the one thing that i wasnt diggin was the outfit she was wearing today, what was up with the hoochie skirt , the only thign that saved her was the boots, and yet again she appears with the i dont give a damn hairdo. that girls got spunk. all in all it was a nice appearance and i dotn care what yall say produced, overproduced, underproduced jewel is jewel and i'd love her voice is she was doing the weather announcing on the weather channel.
