I never said everyone in America was a money hungry humans, please refrain from putting words in my mouth. The truth is that *some* people, and not just Americans, are. I asked a simple question and made a remark regarding it. If you really tried to be nice to everyone you came along, as you just claimed, you would not have responded rudely to my first post, which was civil in every way. Instead of making a smart ass comment, you would have explained yourself and your opinion in a civil fashion, and why you thought my reasoning was silly, like other members of the list did, in a reasonable and polite manner in response to my post. Instead you chose to be a dick and make that smart ass remark. You can *say* now that you try to be nice to everyone all you like, your actions and previous words speak for themselves on the other hand. ~<3~ Sandy - - lavender haunted you, so I could only laugh in yellow - jewel - ..... http://www.envy.nu/angeloflove ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2001 18:16:03 -0500 From: "Tom Browning" Subject: [EDA] [NJC] michelle branch hey eda's off subject a bit i guesss...since everyone seems to be focusing on the recent tragedies...but i have a musical query. and i know i'll be inundated w/ emails...but what do you all think of michelle branch...i know that many have already gone thru this already, but i missed it...or wasn't paying attention or what...but anyways...what's her best songs? is her album any good? or is it just straight up pop? i was wondering becuz at first i figured she was just another pop girl in the christina/britney mold, but i saw her on trl the other day and she was pretty impressive, so now i'm intrigued. i heard she writes her own songs...is this true? cuz that's important to me...i like to be able to relate to the artists i listen to and if they don't write their own songs, it's just not good for me... and yes, i have heard the steve poltz story...guess she's pretty cool. Is she a jewel fan btw? does anyone know how big a fan? i'm just so full of questions today!! thanks for all that'll help! tom the 'cactus' angel ps. the last time i asked a question about a musical thing i wasn't sure about, you'all told me to go get steve poltz's one left shoe...and that was a good recommendation...it's really good, thanks! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2001 19:33:37 -0400 From: "Joe Kunis" Subject: Re: [EDA] i have a MUSIC question I couldn't agree with you more Jake. In this trying time in American history I want to start a new tone on the list...only positive thoughts for the rest of the week (at least!). I'll start it by saying that Kris is the sweetest angel on the list and I love her, I haven't heard enough from you lately but don't be a stranger!!! P.S. Shana you are in my thoughts as well...whatta girl! Well, as I am sure many of you have too, I have had enough. So....short & sweet. It is time to take a short break. Time to reflect on what has happened in New York, Virginia and Pennsylvannia and what is and has been happening on this planet. I have shut down this list for now, and will start it back up Monday morning before I head to work (about 5am ET Monday morning). If a JeweLink comes out in the meantime, I will forward it on. Other than that, the only posts that will come on through are any news/posts from MrBB to the list and a post from me Monday morning announcing the re-opening of the list. So please, over the course of the next few days, give blood, donate supplies the New York City rescue and recovery operations need, donate time or money or clothing or supplies to any cause that helps people in need, spend time with your families and be thankful you still have them all. It is quite likely that over five thousand lives have perished due to the events that unfolded Tuesday, which undoubtedly means many more thousands of lives have been forever effected by those losses. Pray for all of them. Mike - EDA/Jewel list owner - -------------------------------------- Hands Lyrics by Jewel Kilcher If I could tell the world just one thing It would be that we're all OK And not to worry 'cause worry is wasteful And useless in times like these I won't be made useless I won't be idle with despair I will gather myself around my faith For light does the darkness most fear My hands are small, I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own And I am never broken Poverty stole your golden shoes But it didn't steal your laughter And heartache came to visit me But I knew it wasn't ever after We'll fight, not out of spite For someone must stand up for what's right 'Cause where there's a man who has no voice There ours shall go singing My hands are small I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own And I am never broken In the end only kindness matters In the end only kindness matters I will get down on my knees, and I will pray I will get down on my knees, and I will pray I will get down on my knees, and I will pray My hands are small I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own And I am never broken My hands are small I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own And I am never broken We are never broken We are God's eyes God's hands God's mind We are God's eyes God's hands God's heart We are God's eyes God's hands God's eyes We are God's hands We are God's hands ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V6 #409 ***************************
