I was devastated as i watched the tv and the horrible events that were taking place. My first thought was certainly with the people in the airplanes and in the buildings and also my own familys safety as my two children were in school and my husband was at work...although when it crossed my mind that Jewel was very recently in NY for the music awards i simply wanted to check with jewellink for confirmation that she was safe. I want you all to know that i am very sensitive to the current tragedies that are occurring right now. My heart pours out to all that are directly and indirectly afflicted by these acts of hatred. I stand ready to do absolutely anything to help anyone in any way that i am able. I must admit that i was relieved in knowing that Jewel was safe and out of NY and i thank Mr. BB for the quick confirmation that perhaps eased the minds of others as well, in all respect for Jewel. I hold no ill feelings towards the person that disagreed that i would ask about Jewels safety during national distress...but i do hope that the person gets this email and will better understand that i am, as they are, very sensitive to the fact that many thousands of people have lost their lives. I continue to pray for not only our country but for the world and peace for all. God bless us all! In light of everything, we have decided that this weekend's beach cleanup in New Jersey will still happen. It is my understanding that the city is asking people to avoid going into the city unless they must be there, and the only volunteers they want to come into the city are people such as rescue workers, Dr's and other medical staff, etc.... However the area hospitals/blood banks have posted notices that they cannot receive any more blood donors until early next week, so unless that changes, that part of the plan is on hold.... Nor are the majority of people in newsgroups retarded enough that if he *could* fake the date on the message, they wouldn't realize it even though they'd been in their everyday that it hadn't been there before. My friend had already spoken to him previously when he was saying shit, before it happened.
