Obviously we all have very strong feelings and reactions to the events that have transpired. I send my condolences to families and friends of victims today including police, and fire units. I think the following three facts are clear: 1. The US government is still running. 2. The perpetrators will be looked for and punished accordingly. 3. Any help given is beneficial including prayers, blood donation, or other forms of assistance. I have many cousins and family members in NYC. I have no siblings and my cousins ARE my siblings. My cousin Cara, Nick, Cristin, Dylan, Dave, and Keith all live in NYC. They are all fine luckily. My cousin Cristin lives about 15 blocks away from the World Trade Center and she woke up this morning to look out her window and see it on flames. My other cousin Dave was supposed to go to Wall Street today but by luck and fate he decided not too. A woman I know who works on the 1st floor missed her bus to work today which forced her to take a later bus. As she stepped off the bus she looked up at her office building to see a plane crashing into it. These things make you wonder of the funny ways in which life works. This has left me speechless. I was wondering if anyone else felt like nothing can be the same now? I fully support military action, but it's everybody creating a panic right now when they don't know squat about it. The gas station by my house right now has cars lined up out into the street. And why ? Because people who are determined that everything is going to start happening because everybody is screaming out war. There's much more to all of this then just, "point the gun and shoot". I fully hope that whoever it is that is responsible is dealt with and dealt with soon. As I said, I was in the military, and I support any actions that will eliminate the people who are reponsible, but all of the people right now who are freaking out about it (i.e. "It's the beginning of World War III"), that are not helping the situation. It's the level headed people that help get through a situation, not all the "lemmings" who go over the cliff because the rest freaked out and did. Before I go and read the 216 emails I have received, I would like to send my own. My dad's side of the family are all retired Air Force, working for the CIA/FBI/GOVT. In the horrendous attack on America today, I lost at least 2 uncles, and 3 family members are still missing. My uncle Lee is a CIA security guard at the World Trade Center, and his body has not been recovered yet, but his personal effects have been located. My great uncle John was one of the pilots riding on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. He was not piloting as far as we know, he was commuting. My aunt Stacey, cousin Gregg, and cousin Susan are all MIA as of now; Stacey worked for the Pentagon, in the Army division, Susan was supposed to be a visiting my uncle Lee at the WTC, and has not been located, and my cousin Gregg is assumed to be on the flight with my great uncle John. I'm not asking for hundreds of "I'm so sorry" emails, all I am asking is this: please go donate blood. There is a nationwide shortage, and if my cousins and aunt are still alive, they will need that blood most certainly. Your blood c ould save their life. I know you will all keep my family in your thoughts/prayers, and keep the other victims in them, also. I am a fire fighter/EMT, and with the loss of over 200 emergency FF and EMTs in NYC today, the station is overwhelmed with grief. So please, do what you can to help. As I said before, please don't send me a ton of emails, I will be away from the computer for a while, my dad who is former Air Force/CIA has been taken into protective custody, and we will be joining him this weekend for a memorial service. The stock market was closed and the dollar price went to R$2,67, which is a record high price in the brazilian economic plan. On TV, they showed everything that was happening live. I'm very shocked to see everything happening. It's a shame what this terrorists did. I couldn't believe when I saw the building going down. I mean, OH MY GOD!! This is not a war yet, but as I see it's very close to one. I'm praying that US don't declare war, because if another world war comes there will be even more people suffering like the americans are suffering right now.
