I mean, Jewel has thousands of better songs than this one, but anyway, the song is kinda poppy, with some childish lyrics ("Do you want me like I want you, Do you need me like I need you") and a very poor instrumentation, in my opinion... I hope this song had a better treatment in the studio... I also heard I Won't Walk Away, and it's a beautiful song! I loved it. It's kinda ethereal, very similar to a song from Sarah McLachlan that I can't remember the name.. Fabio - the Brazilian angel PS: I hope nobody gets mad with me... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Aug 2001 22:52:32 EDT From: RachKat926@aol.com Subject: [EDA] re: STanding Still I tried to download the MP3's from that site and it didn't work for me-- anyone else have this problem ? ~Rachel~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Aug 2001 22:54:02 -0400 From: "Amanda" Subject: Re: [EDA] re: STanding Still yes i had the same problem. It reminded me of some Tiffany or Debbie Gibson song that was around when I was a kid, but I couldn't think of which one exactly. Not saying I didn't like it, because I did, it is just my opinion. You enter through a small restaurant/bar with a dozen tables or so and proceed through a side doorway into the concert room. This comfortably seats approx 160 people (in rows of chairs) with room for another 40 or so upstairs in a small balcony. The room is shaped somewhat like an L with one side running along the length of the stage and the other side running along a wall length bar. (They closed the restaurant and bar for the night.) For comparison, the concert room is approximately the overall size af Java Joes in San Diego and for an east coast reference, about the size of The Iron Horse in Northampton. (And for an Amsterdam reference--about 2/3 the size of The Melkweg. ;-) It was quite small with no bad seats and they have a really nice installed PA system suspended above the stage so it blocks nobody's veiw. An extremely nice equipment setup for such an intimate venue. It's obviously prepared to rock in there! The stage was a small riser about a foot off the ground. At the front of the stage I think we had four or five rows of twenty people and then continuing rows out into the back of the room. Around the perimeter of the room were bar stools, so folks in the last row were elevated a bit. But even against the back wall, it was less than 30 yards away so it was nice and intimate. Oh, and coincidentally, the room is painted all black except suspended from the front wall are two human adult size white plaster angels floating above each side of the stage. Overall, a great place to catch a show and from the astounding list of people who have played there, I wiah it was my neighborhood bar & grille! I would imagine they'll be turning it on soon and I can announce it :-) It's kinda crude and no bells & whistles, but it gets the job done....more so if you brush up on your boolean AND include the list name (i.e. "jewel")in the search criteria.
