Steve Poltz got everyone in a great mood and Jewel came out and sang with him during his set. She played a lot of new songs from the album and said she never did this before but she started her set with an opera version of You Are My Sunshine that was killer!! Her voice is back to top form thats for sure and I love all the new songs specially Wild West, Break Me and Slow Slide. Most was just Jewel and her guitar but she did bring Steve up for 4 or 5 songs that were awesome. And did anyone mention the acoustic version of Down So Long!! Has she done this acoustic since the Innerchange??? A girl in front had a big sign saying something like I want to sing for you Jewel and Jewel invited her up on stage and they did Down So Long together and it was really good!! She was nervous but she had a nice voice and they did a great job together and the crowd loved it. If Nashville was anything like this I'm so jealous. And I have another theory to add to the Louisa and her Blue Guitar theory. Grey Matter is maybe on the new album because she played it again in Vermont. And 3 encores!! :)Dee ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Aug 2001 18:33:31 -0400 From: "Scott" Subject: Re: [EDA] VERMONT WAS AWESOME!! Nice to hear the concert was so good.. Hello everybody! Ho are you doing? Well, I unsubscribed from the list before going to--ah, coming to Korea, and I'm still unsubscribed. But yesterday I heard music blaring from one of the rooms this wonderful piano and a sa wailing... It was Foolish Games! Oh, I should tell you. I'm in Korea because of a high school program to teach us abou our Korean identity and culture. Te program didn' work; all I learned was profanity from German kids. Anyway, Foolish Games. So I'm like, wow, I can't believe someone's listening to her! And then I realized--but there are no radios or stereos around here. It couldn't be the speakers, because the music was blaring so loudly. And then I realized, she's ON TV! AHHH! So I flipped the channels (though hesitatingly because I was watching Cat on a Hot Tin Roof for the first time), and there she was. Wow! It was a CHINESE channel, for God's sakes, what was she doing there? Singing YWMFM. I was getting withdrawals frm American music. All they have is imitation hip hop here. Do you know how much I've been playing Nelly Furtado here? It's the only CD I brought besides a few mixes. Well, I just wanted to know what show it was. It was around Spirit, of course. I heard her sing Do You(never seen it!), DSL, WWSYS... I saw Poltzie there and everything... Oh, it was just gee-golly dandy. :) I couldn't read Chinese letters, so what show was it? She was wearng a nice black shirt... and... a nice blc shirt. I can't really think of it. Maybe you should list every single tv performance she did. But email me privately!
