I'm sure someone mentioned that Jewel said she'd been learning her songs for about 3 hours the night before nashbash right? So, it is possible that she knew it so well because she'd just learnt it. Then again... many said it just blew you away - which could mean it was good cos she'd had alot of practise lately (ie, it's on the album) hmm... I'd love it on the album as much as you guys - that and Violet Eyes. Knowing how much Jacque meant to Jewel, and then listening to violet eyes - it just makes me cry. ;) Love, Stace xxoo - the angel who is sooo gutted that she lives nowhere near Nashville right now. I love Lousia and her blue guitar and i would absolutely would love for it to be on the new album. (i'm keeping my fingers crossed but trying not get my hopes up too high.) I would also love to see Violet eyes on the album too. As sad as it is, i fell in love with the song the first time i heard it on radio shack concert thing. But i guess we'll all have to wait until the track list is released. I can't wait to find out what songs will be on the new album! :0) smiles Diana the writing angel (\o/) /_\ ___________________________________________________________________ "Live bravely, love bravely. (I unfortunately found myself without a camera) However no one has emailed me about this. So I'm putting the request out one more time. I'm willing to set up any kind of trade. Just email me privately. Also, do you think that the J-team will put pictures from the event on the web page? That would be awesome! Subject: [EDA] "new" song options If Jewel said her CD is already complete, even before she finished the show Sunday night, then where are the songs from that show going to end up? Since it *was* recorded, right? I was under the impression that some were going to be ON the new CD...but I guess that isn't the case. Are they thinking about potential single B-sides? Maybe a whole separate "live" release, like she did with the Sessions/Joy CD/video? It raises many questions. I really thought they were going to be using some of this recently recorded material for the new CD. Maybe a hidden track? I guess there are several options. I'd be a little surprised if Louisa is on the new CD, but less surprised if the version she did Sunday night appears as a hidden track or B-side, possibly. I don't think it would be out of the question to see an older song, already released before, appear as a live version on the new CD, or a b-side. Something like Race Car Driver, for example. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Aug 2001 13:01:19 -0400 From: "Melissa Rethlake" Subject: [EDA] More NAshville Hey Guys!! Hopefully she keeps it up. It was rife with quality new material and lots of great older nuggets including unreleased gems like "Grey Matter," "RaceCar Driver," and "Louisa and Her Blue Guitar." Hopefully this is a sign that her new album will be a more serious, legitimate effort, compared to the schmaltzy, overproduced, cheesiness that was the majority of the stuff on Spirit and the accompanying tour, a prepackaged same-setlist-every-night exercise in mediocrity. She actually made it through a performance without including the loathsome "Hands?" Wow, maybe she still does have it. Keep it up Jewel. She meant at that moment that the record was finished. After she said that, she did some more old favorites again. So, yes, hopefully a few of the tracks she did for us will be on the album. Subject: [EDA] those pics Someone (I forgot who) had asked how those pics were taken close, as in Jewel must walk by everyone after the show. Well, those were taken as she was walking out of the venue, not from the stage, so that's why she appears to be rather close. Also a zoom lens may have been used as well, but maybe not in this case. She was just walking "by" in front of everyone on her way out, and cameras were going off much like they do when paparazzi takes pics of celebrities. Notice how she's not "posing" for any of the pics. This is a dead giveaway of the nature of the pictures. :-) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Aug 2001 15:34:27 -0700 (PDT) From: Kris Kelley Subject: [EDA] Vermont Gathering Hey all, For those of you going to the Vermont show this weekend I found the perfect place for us to all meet up before the show. It's called Zoe's Double Hex and if you're coming from the highway it's right off the exit (take a right off the ramp and it's there) and if you're coming from Rt 7 or 11 30 the it's on the left side as soon as you come down the mountain. It's got a big driveway so we could consolidate cars if you want to (the parking @ the venue is rediculous) or decided what we want to do. I'm spending the night before and Sat night in Bennington, VT (bout 20 min from Manchester....its cheaper) so i was figuring if we wanted to meet @ 5:30, then that would give us time to go grap something to eat before the show, or at least plan to. If we plan to meet @ 5:30 and then leave for whatever @ 6....would that sound good? If anyone doesn't have reserved seats and wants to go earlier then that would be good too, it doesn't matter to me.
