Subject: [EDA] Angelfood? *blink blink?* Howdy all angels. Kay so I know a billion people always ask about angelfood but I'm in some serious need of some. This summer's been horribly depressing for me and I could really use some Jewel to help keep me grounded. I don't have the equipment to make copies of what little angelfood I do have, and I don't have a lot of money, but I can probably cover postage if anyone out there's willing to help me out. Thanks for your time, angels, and have a good one. - -Jay "We are everyday angels, be careful with me cuz I'd like to stay that way" ~"Sensitive" Jewel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 15:44:44 EDT From: Minnie822@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Re: nashville concert thing hey angels I don't post often, but i'm trying to change that. Sadly, i can't go to the listening concert thing in nashvile (sniff) But i'm looking forward to hearing all about it from those who go. I'm dying to hear some of the new songs jewel has been writing lately. And maybe we'll get some lyrics to some of these songs... and some feed back... Even though i'm not going :0( (sniff) I look forward to the feedback. have a good time! diana the writing angel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 14:51:10 -0500 From: "Karacostas, Derrick W." Subject: [EDA] NJC: thanks for the + feedback Just for the record, I'm in no way shape, or form associated with Mandy Moore or her record label nor am I getting any commission from promoting her new CD. :-p Just wanted to clear this up before the questions began. I do appreciate all the surprisingly postive feedback I've been seeing though. It's refreshing to see that once in awhile. I've done some more searching and actually what some of you have said seems to be pretty accurate...Mandy herself has stated she prefers to go out with a live band this time around, and do a more "rocked out" show than before. It's all new to her still, but I can tell it's something she really has her mind set on doing, and it'll show off more of how she really would prefer to perform....so more power to her! I think it'll be pretty cool...it's quite a change from the pre-recorded music. She even said she didn't like *having* to keep up with the recorded stuff, and having to do certain dance moves. This way she'll be able to be more free, and do whatever she wants for the most part. Kinda cool. I think she's evolving alot more into someone like Natalie Imbruglia. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 16:40:44 EDT From: RachKat926@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] EDA cover Tape Hi! They returned again about 3AM Friday morning - Thank Goodness they'd already set up there tent and could just pretty much crash right away :-) Pretty much everyone else arrived throughout the day and evening on Friday and got themselves set up and ready to party ;-) Seems each year people arrive a little earlier to avoid the setting up of the tent in the dark :-) Dennis tried his best to get us kicked out of the campgrounds by using fireworks that night - Baaaad Dennis :-P (OK, so I later found out Rob did a couple of his bottle rockets, but Dennis was the tempter, right?) Dennis again tried to cause trouble later as he came bounding into our tent in the middle of the night and crawled into bed with Rob and I - then refused to leave until he made Rob make sheep noises louder and louder - waking poor Amy out of a sound sleep in the next tent over - Baaaad Dennis ;-) We tried to vote him out last year, but he just keeps coming back!!! :-) I find that each year we do less and less camp cooking and spend more and more money - lol. Tom and Tiffany, The O'Brien's, and us Campbells went into Phoenicia Saturday morning and had breakfast at Sweet Sue's (was that the name of the place?) and had a nice quiet breakfast to help us recover from Friday night :-) Then about 6 of us (what happened to the 13 we had last year?) went horseback riding - woohoo!!! Turned out our wrangler's name was Dennis - was that a bad sign? ;-) All went well except when Amy's horse got tangled in a branch/vine and she had to call for help - Then even more oddly said Thank you Dennis (how often is that said?? ;-) hehe - I'm STILL sore from the horseback riding, but oh what fun :-) We returned to the campsite to find that most of the group had gone into Woodstock, so Amy, Dennis, Paul, Rachel, and us Campbells had a nice relaxing few hours at a nearby lake - until Katerina (the youngest Campbell) got her hair caught in the propeller of her toy boat - Dennis was kind enough to help her untangle herself - then had to help Rob when he had to see just how much of a danger this toy was and proceeded to tangle it in his own hair (yes, I still admit to being married to the man - lol) - He'll never live that one down.... :-) BTW, Friday and Saturday nights it was Mudslides in the blender and the handing out of many shooters - well, they came in packs of 30 and we bought two flavors - I couldn't drink them ALL myself ;-) Sunday was (for about 14 of us) our 3rd year for Brunch at the Lodge, which is highly recommended for anyone who visits the area :-) Then back to camp to pack up, then finally to Woodstock for a quick shopping spree :-) (I get my grandmother's B-day gift at a little shop there every year - a piece of pottery from Timbuktu, where this year I got to meet the artist/owner :-)) Well, I think that was long enough and there are many other stories that I'll leave to other attendees - suffice it to say, it was another successful Bearsville weekend!!! See ya next year!!! Tammy :-) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 22:19:53 -0400 From: "Antonio Miquilena" Subject: [EDA] Mandy Moore - Scott post Scott, your totally right. I can see the similarities with Jewel... The song is pretty aswell, it's my kind of song, slow, and guitar and violin... excellent voice, this girl has a future. I also recommend for people who are into this kind of music, a very talented singer I found a year ago, her name is Tara McLean, and it's also music I could see Jewel singing, the best tracks of her are "Settling", "Let her feel the rain (acoustic)" and "In The Wings" I also wanna ask in this post, if there's anyone here, that have some Bootlegs from Jewel ? I only have her Pieces Of You material, from 95 to 99, 20+ shows in total. I would want some of the recent ones, 00-01, if anyone have some, and a website where I can check them, please let me know... I also found one time a Jewel Depot (an FTP full of Jewel shows, in mp3 format, ready for download) but it was closed because he needed space or something... does anyone know if there's something like that around ? Antonio. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 17:22:29 -1000 From: "Ali Walsh" Subject: Re: [EDA] Concert in Central Park!!
