I have to admit I listen to 1 or 2 songs at the very least every day. Guess I'm a little pathetic huh? But she mellows me out after a rough day at the office. I guess she's kind of comforting or something, like home. Other artists, although I love them, don't give me the same warmth inside. Like homemade pumpkin pie or going to your grandparents house and knowing exactly which chair at the table is yours even if you haven't been there in over six months. She has a lot of different song styles, but something about her voice and her lyrics....from WSIT to Rocker Girl.....have the same feel. She's just sweet and real, she seems like someone I could be friends with. Someone that you could just sit around and shoot the breeze with that isn't pretentious or condescending. I think that is the appeal that draws me to her. Not to mention she has an amazing voice and is a fabulous performer! Probably = of her songs give me the chills EVERY time I listen to them. It's dangerous to wear shorts or a skirt when I listen to her, because I have to shave again. ;-) Anyway, I've rambled enough. And for those that are going to write and tell me to get a life....I have one, thanks though. And I DO listen to other artists and appreciate their music. It's just that Jewel is my favorite artist and I can't imagine anyone taking her place as far as my #1 fave goes. So.....now to answer Derricks question. Currently in my CD player 1. Jewel - of course...this weeks fave's are a. I Don't Care b. My Own Private God's Gift to Women c. Marital Carnival I tend to switch out songs every two weeks or so. 2. A smorgasbord or 80's hits. 3. Enya 4. A compilation of Celtic music that I put together. Some is instrumental, but I also have a lot of Loreena McKennit. 5. Darryl Worrley....he's a country singer, but I really only have him in there for 1 song....I'm having a battle in my heart and mind over who I should be with right now and my ex-fianci told me that this one song was exactly like the 2 of us...so of course I had to listen! OK, I'm done. Have a great day! Kristie The "torn" angel >>> "Karacostas, Derrick W." 07/16/2001 2:12:38 AM >>> 1. What's in your CD player right now? I'm a new fan (since 1998), so both Jewel's "regular" albums were already released when I discovered her. I must say that the difference between the two isn't that huge, so I can't understand how somebody can love one and hate the other! But the difference between the two albums in my eyes (and ears) is that Jewel is more mature. These days, I do prefer Spirit. Although I adore Pieces Of You, there's nothing on that album which compares to masterpieces such as Deep Water or Life Uncommon. And "ever since Spirit came out and then Joy, It's been totally down hill from there"???!!! What do you mean, George? Jewel hasn't made any albums since Joy. How could it be downhill???
