I guess I don't have to worry too much about that at a $20 jeweljk price. That being said, it got me thinking philosophically about who has the right to profit the most from this work considering it now has a higher value. (1)Target - who took the risk and publized Jewel for a month and printed the disks, (2)Jewel who created the works contained on the CD, or (3)me who thought enough ahead to buy a dozen copies when I had the chance. Of course, I am distant third in this whole thing, but I think individuals are somewhere when it comes to collector stuff. I mean Jewel obviously contributed this work for the promotion value and whatever Target paid her - so she must have thought that was a good deal in and of itself. Target priced the thing at $7.99 and must have thought that this was good for them (Believe me if they thought it was worth $20 they would priced it accordingly). Then I come along, immediately recognize to me that the CD is worth more (or will soon be worth more) and like a gluton snag all I can see in hopes that others will someday feel like I did when I saw it in the store. By the way I recognize the fact that there are little pockets of these CDs helps add to the fact of their value - but that's is true of all collectibles. Anyway - my end thought was, GOOD FOR JEWEL!!! She at least also realized that some of this stuff might be worth something more in the future and held on to some. Or at the very least someone in her team realized that these were selling for $10 - $20 online. Heck, I've sold one for $25. It's not often that an artist has the ability to watch their work grow in value and I am glad Jewel (and her management) had the foresight enough to archive everything they could and to get all the extra copies that they could. -- Rob ps. I am not sure on the exact number of people that fit into the Interchange, but it was indeed a very small venue. Imagine Java Joes if you've ever been to the old location in OB. The shows usually ranged from five to 20 or so onlookers, most of whom Jewel would meet on the beach and tell that she was going to play - 99% of them were men - go figure. Great marketing that gal had! Anyway, sometimes she was in a really good mood and always sang great. However, there were many times that she would, very publically I might add, bitch about "only making $50" in a night. She would go into these hissy fits about that every once in a while, and yes, she would tell the audience to "shut up" over and over. The shows were very intimate, but unlike Java Joes, the Interchange, for the most part, was not a venue where the patrons came first to see music and then socialize with friends...the opposite being true, this is why people were not quiet enough for Jewel. I was really enjoying the movie until the last 45 minutes. I understand Kubrick is a very different director, but I don't know what he (or Spielberg) was thinking when he made those last 40 minutes. Anyway, you're not the only one. I really like Kirsten Dunst and I want to see Crazy Beautiful so i'm glad you say it is good. The ending was stupid. I would suggest, if you haven't seen it, that you just don't watch the end. The movie was almost ruined with that ending added on. After we saw it, my boyfriend Tom showed me another Speilberg movie, and like he said, most all of his movies have to have a happy ending. He is the one that did it. I think the original did not have that ending. Speilberg added it on. Just my opinion! You could barely hear Jewel and she was using her annoying baby voice.. Well, not her baby voice, but when she goes into a super high octave and sings.. That's annoying because she usually sounds so great singing regularly.. I heard she did that when she sang "Your Song" with Moby at the Elton John tribute, and a lot of critics complained.. Yeah, they complain about a lot of stuff that's just because they're hard-asses, but I'm betting they were right this time.. Even though "Your Song" is just about my favorite song, so I'd be harsh on any bad performances...lol scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME. AMPLIFIED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo! Also I am looking to share a ride with someone to the concert, since a bus ticket from Montreal to Manchester, Vermont will cost me 100$ or more! CRAZY.
