That would make me an EXTREMELY happy boy! If they cant go I have no ride and no plans- and my parents wont let me go to NY by myself without a plan (ride and place to stay). I want to go and not only that if I cant I'm out of alot of money. I've sent a letter to all going to bearsville- and gotten no responses. You are pretty much my last hope. That's more along the lines of "sentimental"..... my feeling is that this is a sarcastic title. just my opinion. steve ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 02:08:54 EDT From: Wigglytooth523@aol.com Subject: [EDA] flight times hey angels, I just posted the confusing message about being stranded and possibly not being able to go to Bearsville. Here's the scoop: Emm Gryner Borders Books & Music 10-24 School St. (Downtown Crossing) Boston, MA Saturday, July 7 (today) 4pm-6pm, free If you've never heard of Emm, you can get more info at www.emmgryner.com or mp3.com/emmgryner for sound clips (though she's got MUCH better songs than the ones on mp3.com). If you're in the Boston area, you should really try to check out this show. It's free, and it's good music. :) Nicky ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 09:53:09 EDT From: EastAngelEDA@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Country Album Yeah, I was listening to the radio in the car the other day, and both local pop stations said "Jewel is in the studio recording a new album" and one went on to say that "you won't hear much of it here since it is going to be country music. Probably because she has been hanging out with her cowboy Ty Murray," the other just said "rumor has it it is a country album." So that is the concensus here in Cincinnati, OH, but I have a feeling looking at the possible songs that may be on the album that it will be a variety of music genres on one album. Nashville doesn't necessarily mean country.... There just might be good producers based in that area, and a good recording studio.... you know? And a country artist doesn't necessarily have to record in Nashville... if they wanted to, they can record in NYC. So just cause she's recording in a specific place doesn't mean her music will be what's common in that area. Its almost like saying if she records in Orlando, she's gone teeny-bopper. (Note: A lot of teeny boppers came from Orlando, but so did Matchbox20 and other bands that i cant think of offhand) Ty being a cowboy doesn't mean anything either. Nor does singing w/ merle Haggard and John Michael Montgomery (maybe whoever picked her to sing, liked her voice?) We keep going over this every few weeks. Can't we just stop assuming, and just wait, *patiently*, for her album, then see whats on it, and what genre to slap on it.... 'Cause Jeez.... everytime someone mentions "Jewel is going country" people flip out, and say they will no longer like jewel cause country sucks. (btw, i'm sure many of you who say that already like her "country" songs... there are quite a few on angelfood tapes/cds, but because its not slapped w/ the country label you like it.) but no matter what genre it is filed under, its still Jewel. Its still her beautiful songs. And no stereotype will change that. No matter if the CD is under Pop/Rock, Country, or whatever, it will always be Jewel. cymbie tree hugger - -- when night falls it's dawn one must reach for. - -a. camus ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 11:02:40 -0700 (PDT) From: Mirko Serkovic Subject: [EDA] Re: EDA's vote 4 song I would probably vote for Carnivore and then for Can't Take My Soul under a different name ;) Mirko *angel from Peru* Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! If you're a country music fan, you've probably noticed that CMT has been creating more and more shows just like MTV and VH1 did (unfortunately is the general consensus...the only time they really show videos is at 3AM...lol).. Yeah, so that's why.. Also, Jewel has been digging in her mark in the country scene.. And if you think that's a bad thing, think about it.. Jewel's main market for album #4 will probably still be the pop/rock market, but then you add in country fans who go to the store when she's prominently on the new release shelf, and they go "Hey! This is that cool chick I saw with that concert on CMT and who sang with Merle and John Michael!".. It can only help her sales.. Now, if she'd start dueting with people on the awards shows with her core demographics, like Shelby Lynne with Sheryl Crow at the Grammys.. Or she could do some buzz-worthy performance, like with Incubus (which would be one of my DREAM collaborations!).. Or, last but not least, she could go on Oprah again! lol! I mean, think about this.. Oprah had a show last week spotlighting performers.. Two of the performers were Alicia Keys and India.Arie.. Last week, India had the highest album gains (her album leaped more than 20 spots) and this week Alicia very unexpectedly landed the Number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with something like a quarter million albums sold.. Now THAT's a sure way to sell albums.. lol scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME. AMPLIFIED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo!
