I just found a review of what appears to be a repackaged version of the Ride With The Devil DVD. It's got a different cover and also seems to include the What's Simple Is True video which wasn't on the original region 2 release. I've not seen it in the UK. The site appears to be Dutch so perhaps Michiel can tell us if this is in the shops in Holland, or anywhere else in Europe. (well not that little) As I've just joined, thought I would introduce myself. My name is Simon. I'm 20 and I am orginally from near Liverpool in the UK. I am just coming to the end of a three year BA Hons in Business Studies at the University of Sheffield....my last exam is tomorrow morning!!!! I will then do a bit of work so I can go travelling in Nov/Dec to New Zealand or possibly the US and in February I start my graduate job at Accenture as a management consultant in London. I first got into Jewel in 1997 and loved her ever since. I certainly feel a an emotional attachement to her music like no other artist (I lie - also Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows also has this effect on me). I have never seen her live....she was meant to be supporting Counting Crows at Wembley 2000 but pulled out...I was gutted....my two fave artists at one gig would been stupendous! My favourite JK song is You Were Meant For Me closley followed by Foolish Games. I look forward to getting to know a little more about Jewel and of course, all of you! Music plays a major part in my life....very rarely am I not listening to a song, whether it's on my walkman, at work or annoying my housemates by playing Pieces of You on repeat. I have over 400 CDs and I'm always looking new artists. I am particularly interested in finding out about similar/related Jewel artists. Other artists like are...Counting Crows, Jeff Buckley, REM, Dido, The Corrs, Ben Folds Five, The Wallflowers, Lifehouse, Coldplay, Manic Street Preachers, Gin Blossoms, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Coldplay, Travis, Oasis, 3EB, Bob Dylan, Badly Drawn Boy, Joe 90, Gigolo Aunts, Collapsis, Goo Goo Dolls, Train, Guster, Stereophonics, Ben & Jason, Fiona Apple, Glen Phillips, Radiohead, Matchbox 20, The Jayhawks, The Verve, Dog's Eye View, Athenaeum, Marvin Gaye, Elliot Smith, Ooberman, Simon 7 Garfunkel, Primal Scream, Texas, Neil Finn, Cracker, Beth Orton, Blur, Vertical Horizon, Fleetwood Mac, Matthew Sweet, The Divine Comedy, Tindersticks..the list goes on..!!!! Other than music, my interests include football, golf, tennis, poetry..I do write off and on and I may just post some if I gain some courage!, and I draw portraits of people - I do have a small business put mostly just for family and friends. Oh and I love Kevin Smith Movies. Right I think I've said enough!...apologies for the rambling and I look forward to sharing in the discussion. Simon. *What we call human nature in actuality is human habit* JK. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 06 Jun 2001 15:20:45 -0700 From: Gerrit Subject: Re: [EDA] bearsville Elio (Wigglytooth523@aol.com) wrote: > Im hoping to find out very soon if i can come to bearsville > (hopefully by this weekend). While I only spent a few years in New York state, July in New York tends to be quite warm. I'm gonna be at Bearsville this year too! =) I'm dragging a friend from Queens and possibly a friend from Rochester too. And Katie is carpooling with me with one of her friends too. I hope we hear from more people planning on making the trek to Bearsville soon because it's less than two months away! :) Gerrit Gerrit's Bearsville Flight Arrangements: ______________________________________________________ Flight: Continental Airlines flight 366 (Non-Stop) Depart: Orange County, CA (SNA) - Fri, Jul 20 at 11:25am Arrive: Newark, NJ (EWR) - Fri., Jul 20 at 7:42pm ______________________________________________________ Flight: Continental Airlines flight 167 (Non-Stop) Depart: Newark, NJ (EWR) - Sun, Jul 22 at 6:20pm Arrive: Orange County, CA (SNA) - Sun., Jul 22 at 9:26pm ______________________________________________________ Anyone who needs a ride to Steve's Campsite from Newark and can arrange your schedule to mine, LET ME KNOW!! Yeah, but the evenings and nights in these mountains DO get quite cool, and at times cold, especially to southerners & Floridians like Eliot. Even us yankees have brought sweaters and/or jackets/blankets to this event. While I do not yet have the 2001 version of the Bearsville/EDA Camp Out web page up yet, all the info you need regarding what to bring is still up on the 2000 version at http://www.quackquack.net/bv/news2000.htm {snip} >______________________________________________________ >Anyone who needs a ride to Steve's Campsite from Newark and can >arrange your schedule to mine, LET ME KNOW!! Last year we had to move to another campsite as Steve's Campsite's went to that big burned out campfire in the sky. The last time I discussed this with Tammy two months ago, plans were the same as last year, having it at the Phoenicia Campgrounds right on the main drag in Phoenicia, Route 28. I could be wrong, but I doubt it has changed. I still really want to go, so I was wondering if I could schedule a Greyhound to NJ or NYC, is there a wonderful Angel who would meet me and lemme carpool with them? I would greatly appreciate it, I had such fun last year, I don't want to miss it this year! Email me privately, EastAngelEDA@aol.com! Thanks so much!
