I read it a while ago but its one of those useless pieces of info that stick in your head. lol so the name has survived 3 generations i believe. ** an interesting side note** when i read i that i thought how weird to name your kid Yule Jewel Kilcher... it was months later when i realized i had the wrong grampa obviously it would have came from Nedra's dad not Atz's lol! It's a known fact that vinyl has superior sound quality compared to cd's. Cd's are a limited format when it comes to reproducing sound. But. There is now a new format called "Super CD" which reads the disc at 2 million kilohertz faster. Verses today's cd. which reads at 44.1 kilohertz, or is that 96 k. I can't rememeber. For older fans who care, Atlantic records, just released Led Zeppelin's whole catolog again on new vinyl. It makes the cd's sound like a tin box. Anyway. I have both POY and Spirit on album. But they are both still wrapped in plastic, and I'll probabley never play them on a turn table. Once they go out of print, they will be collectibles. So if you find the records, go buy them!! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 May 2001 12:18:51 EDT From: JimboUK999@aol.com Subject: [EDA] 'Sleep while i drive' Hi all, Just a quick question, is the Jewel duet with Melissa Etheridge 'Sleep while i drive' available in MP3/RA anywhere on the web? It is obviously some sort of spoof. Has anyone read it?, I know it probably slags off Jewel, but if you were to read it with no bias, is it funny? - -Jim ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 May 2001 19:22:28 -0000 From: "Emily Griffiths" Subject: [EDA] NJC : Vancouverites Hey all. They were interviewing pro bull rider Chris Shivers.. What's really cool is that I've gotten pretty into PBR, and I was like 'Cool! It's Chris Shivers!' before I even saw the Jewel mention.. =) RS: If you're the best bull rider, then how come your fellow rided Ty Murray ended up with Jewel? Hallo, my fellow Angels! I wanted to put the word out about a Living Room Concert I'm hosting this weekend for Luna Taylor! I had the opportunity to see Luna live in Austin a month ago and was completely blown away. If you've ever gotten to see her, you know she has an amazing voice and a way of speaking personally to everyone in the room through her music. :) The LRC will be held this Friday, May 18th in San Antonio. The show starts at seven, and Luna will be splitting the floor with local band Lady Jane Grey. Admission is just $8 and a covered dish. For more info or to reserve a seat, email me at LivingRoomTunes@cs.com. I hope to see some familiar Texas faces, as well as some new ones, at the show!! Rowdy?? :) Talk to you soon!! *Sarah* ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 May 2001 16:02:47 EDT From: KissTheFlame720@aol.com Subject: [EDA] I got my stuff!! Hello EDA's!! I'm soooo happy! As Derrick has pointed out to me, the $8 admission charge to the LRC is a bit unusual. All money collected will go straight to the bands, both who are traveling from outside the city to come in and play. For those who are uncomfortable with the $8 charge, donations will be accepted in leau of the admission fee. Yuck! I'm glad we got that part over with. The whole point is to come, relax and enjoy the evening. Hope to see you there! :) *Sarah* ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 May 2001 21:28:32 EDT From: JewelMic@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Jewel and Hot Dogs...? Hello Everyone. I was wondering why Jewel has many songs with the words "hot dog" in them. Is it an inside joke or something? I remember reading something from Dennis about how you're an "old school" Jewel fan if you knew what it meant...and I have no idea so I guess that makes me a newbie. So, forgive me please! I was just wondering. Thanks so much in advance! Have a nice day/night. (although I've been known to make surprise appearances, but prolly not this time, just tied up with a bunch of other things..) but I highly recommend this Living Room Concert to anyone out there that can attend, it will be more than well worth the $8 and covered dish, and since I'm such a jolly good fellow, if anyone that goes can honestly say he/she did not enjoy it, I'll happily send them $8. Truly, I feel that strong about it. (Sorry, I can't offer to refund the covered dish; I would not wish my cooking onto anyone) But, really the refund offer is valid. I have no first hand knowledge of Lady Jane Grey, but what I've heard on the net seems impressive, check them out at http://www.ladyjanegreymusic.com/ From: Twinkletoes131@cs.com >To: jewel@smoe.org, in-the-wings@linus.mitre.org >Subject: [EDA] NJC/NTC: Luna's LRC >Date: Wed, 16 May 2001 20:35:03 EDT > >Hey, everyone! > >As Derrick has pointed out to me, the $8 admission charge to the LRC is a bit >unusual.
