The only answers I've seen to the many questions concerning them >are short answers like "they're a group" or no answer at all ("we don't >talk about them"). If this is some big secret, or if discussion of it >really is forbidden on the list...I'm starting to think up conspiracy >theories about the whole thing, and we all know what happens to people >who think up conspiracy theories...they're abducted by aliens working >for the government... As Keyser Soze said in the movie "The Usual Suspects": "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." ;-) The whole Harris thread is a huge intricate puzzle, which actually requires more explanation and bandwidth than we have here. It really needs to be heard in person from a group of EDAs, some who know the events firsthand and some who just think they know. Pick and choose your chapters or skip around the movie, just rest assured that the STRANGER the story, the TRUER the story. I can best describe it as an ongoing interactive historical list joke (tm). But please don't mention the "alien thing". It WILL bring on roadtrip tales from Chris, and encourage me to share the story of the day we launched the EveryDay Angels Foundation and the EDAs met the official Ambassador to the Aliens -- that was a weird day, even by my standards. The Harris Bubble-Blowing Black Sheep (tm) -- Ali, Kim, Lauren, Laura and Becca -- absolutely rule, and I think it's a damn shame they never made a penny from the performers they carried on their backs to stardom. *** Steve, The Aussie Angel named "Taz" by yours truly, cautioned: >Who are the Harris Brothers?? Never mention the name out loud. I met the >leader himself almost two years ago at VH1 Storytellers and I'm still in >therapy!!! ... >Just kidding. It's a clan that should perhaps be expanded. ... >You see, this is the whole problem of mentioning the Harris Bros. It brings >Dennis out of lurk mode and unleashing a furry of posts. This results in >people such as myself delurking and commenting on the number of recent posts >made by Dennis. In extreme cases of 'The Curse of The Harris Bros', further >postings from Dennis will be made, creating a vicious cycle of posts headed >RE:NJC: Harris Bros. I'll say this about Taz: he was the ONLY EDA willing to do the Village People's song "YMCA" full-monty with me in that New York gay karaoke bar two years ago after the Jewel VH-1 StoryTellers taping. I know we could have won that $300 prize money if two more of you wallflowers had the cajones (and the sense to cover them up) to join us! Oh well, some things EDAs won't even do for me... Expansion? The last inductees to the Harris Clan were Lisa Sanders and Joy Eden Harrison, in my backyard some two summers ago during their Living Room Tour. It is a rare event indeed that the curse is spread beyond the "usual suspects", but I hereby scribble with a blue sharpie pen the name of Steven J "Taz" Neville-Harris as a "made man" in the Harris Big Book of Clan Members, and quickly toss the book back under my bed where who-knows-what lurks. Congratulations Taz, or best wishes for a swift recovery, depending on how you look at it. (Now you can't testify against me, either!) :-) With Fuzzy the Purple Bear and the Crunch Clan vanquished some four years ago, and the Clan of Tom now subdued by random acts of matrimony, one clan remains. Rest well at night angels, there is order in the world, and a method to the madness. Please take him to the Renaissance Faire and buy him a Jester's hat. He'll dance for you like a trained circus bear! (Caution: do NOT invite Jason to stay at your house as he will take you up on the offer, and NEVER let him talk you into cleaning out his garage, no matter how much he begs.) Gerritt, on the other hand, already has a Jester's hat, and can't dance worth a damn. But he's NOT an alien, just a techie-nerd dotcom kind of guy who is definitely worth meeting, too. I found a book called "A Night Without Amor II: The Revenge" which is some kind of satire to Jewel's book, well, in my opinion, just some jealous idiot of Jewel's publishing deal... I guess, but reviews say it is making good natured fun of her poems, however some people may regard it as offensive. I have not read ANWAII, so I can't judge it, but imagine how would you feel if people are laughing at your feelings and inner most secrets? But anyway, does anyone know the story behind the book?
