Hey Angels, I'm coming to America in July!!!! YAY!! I'm going to be an au pair for a year in Atlanta, Georgia. I'll be looking after two girls. Cassady who is 4 and Kendall who is almost 2. I was just wondering if there was anyone who lived there that could tell me a little bit about it. Like where I can shop, what I should see, etc etc...any help would be great. Thanks angels!! I have arrainged to have the entire Humphreys Backstage and Lounge available for a gathering/ EDA Concert all day prior to Jewels concert Sunday August 19th (All Ages) and for an After Party all night after her show on Monday August 20th.(21 & Over) Humphreys Backstage, situated on a World Cup Harbor overlooking the ourdoor ampitheater where Jewel will perform later in the evening, is San Diego's #1 Music Venue, and we have complete access to the whole place, the awesome sound/ lighting system and stage. Not to mention we now have the system in place at Humphreys to do a live webcast of the entire event! So all of the EDA's who cant make it to San Diego can watch the whole shindig on the web! I have already spoken with Jason Mraz, and he would like to perform at Sunday's gathering. If you are an EDA musician and would like to take part in these special performances, please contact me. Rizioule@home.com or 619-226-1521 Immediately following Jewels performance on Monday, we will all flock to the indoor venue for an After Party with Jewels good friend Gregory Page. I can't think of a more perfect ending for an incredible Jewel Weekend! Here's what it looks like so far; All Day Sunday, August 19: 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm: EDA Gathering at Humphreys Backstage (Live Webcast, for those at home) then Jewels Concert outside on the mainstage. All Ages Pretty much anything goes for this event, so I'd like to hear everyones ideas. Monday August 20th: After Party (21 & Up) Immediately Following Jewels Concert outside, We all meet in the Backstage for refreshments, good times, and a special musical performance by Gregory Page. This will be the "After Jewel Party", hopefully Jewel and band will have a couple of songs left in them and join us in this very intimate venue. Seating for the gathering and the After Party with Gregory Page is limited to 200 each event. Admission to these events is free if you have advance reservations. To reserve your seats, email me and please specify which event you would like to attend. You can attend both events. Also, what do you think the most attractive physical attribute of this list is? Our character and depth of conversation? Or maybe it is just our breasts? I like the way she looked also, very simple and sexy. I liked her better this way than all doll-upped on the TV appearances. ALthough she looked great on them, her look on austin city limits w/o too much makeup and just pure raw energy was great. I am amazed every time I see her about how comfortable she is on stage. If I could get up and sing with one iota of that confidence...but I guess she grew up performing and learned so much from her parents. Also, the faces she makes when she sings...I'd be embarassed but she is so free and so sensual...I admire her comfortableness as a performer and wish it was easy for me to perform publicly instead of being such a shy little thing and only performing amazingly when alone or after a few drinks - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Apr 2001 16:48:26 EDT From: Harrisbros@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Do you have a blue sharpie or a gel pen? We used to use the phrases "vets" and "newbies" on this list. Vets would "adopt" a newbie, answering their questions and making sure they had a supply of Jewel bootleg tapes. The vets would also encourage newbies to join in EDA events and gatherings. Newbies didn't last long -- they quickly became "vets", ready to help the next newbie. That concept seems to be pretty much dead now, but the ESPN Sports "old school" programming got me to thinking -- we now have "old school" and "new school" Jewel fans. Here's a quick test to see if you are a "old school" or "new school" Jewel fan. 1) OS fans have blue sharpie pens, NS fans have gel pens. 2) OS fans have at least one autograph of a fellow EDA, NS fans want a Jewel autograph. 3) OS fans have dual cassette decks to dub angelfood tapes, NS fans have CD-R burners to compile their own Jewel MP3 mixes. 4) OS fans bookmarked Adam's home page as the ultimate Jewel site, NS fans bookmark the official Jewel home page. 5) OS fans understand the importance of blue ribbon tied to a car attenna at a Jewel show, NS fans are too busy screwing with the red tape of buying tickets through Ticket Bastard (tm)! 6) OS fans will pick Steve to hang with after a show, NS fans will pick Jewel. 7) OS fans (of legal drinking age) have a good chance of hanging with Steve, NS fans had better win an SNL "win six months in an Alaskan cabin alone with Jewel" contest. 8) OS and NS fans can BOTH find Steve after a show, long after Jewel "has left the building". But while OS fans hang with Steve, NS fans insist that Jewel has got to be coming out of one of those side doors anytime now... 9) OS fans can name the four "backup bands" Jewel has had over the years, NS fans have never seen Jewel play solo live. 10) OS fans know the lyrics to "R" rated Jewel songs (violence and language), NS fans know the "PG" songs. 11) OS fans understand the significance of the word "hot dog" in the early works of Jewel, NS fans have probably never heard Jewel utter the phrase "hot dog". 12) OS fans have personally seen Jewel give some drunk in the crowd the finger during a performance, NS fans can't believe Jewel is capable of such an act. 13) OS fans were much more likely to use Macintosh computers with college email accounts, NS fans are much more likely windows users with Hotmail email accounts. 14) OS fans would probably walk across the street to meet a NS fan; NS fans would probably CROSS the street to AVOID an OS fan! ;-) Newbie or new school, I like 'em both. (Hey, you guys haven't heard all my stories yet...) Dennis Harris, playing Yoda to a promising class of young Jedi * * One last one: OS fans know the words to Steve's Star Wars song "Go Chewie Go!", NS fans have heard of Star Wars. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Apr 2001 17:42:13 EDT From: JeWeLzKeWL@aol.com Subject: [EDA] I saw you today I saw u today by fun time ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Apr 2001 17:51:15 EDT From: Harrisbros@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Pigs fly next weekend in the Garden State!
