She looks good with those extra pounds and I think everyone should be whatever weight they are happy and comfortable with, but as far as Jewel losing weight, I don't really think she has. I think some of the clothing she wears disguises some of it and I'm sure that professional photographers are skilled in making people look thinner than they really are. It makes no difference to me what she weighs, I think she is a beautiful person inside and out. I just wanted to put in my two cents. Kristie The no longer free but happy about it angel! =) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Apr 2001 09:57:57 -0400 From: "Jason Keis - DRulz" Subject: [EDA] Folk / Folk Rock Scene in NYC? Hey EDAs.. for those who are in the NYC area, I was just wondering if there is a Folk/Folk Rock scene here? I know of the Bitter End and that place right next to CBGB's ... any other places you guys might know of? I'm also interested in Celtic, Loreena Mckennitt type music... any ideas? Thanks! Oh, they probably have 2 horses. :-) Actually, we went horseback riding for the first time last year (though we've been threatening to go just about every year) and it was a great success. Odds are, we'll go again this year, especially since the riding place is across the street from the new campground. Last year we also visited a buddhist monastary which was really fascinating and of course there's always the trip into town with all it's tourist and new age shops. There's also been a psychic fair going on some years and a flea market. Anyway, it's not WHAT you do, it's WHO you do it with!! BV is always a blast, so definitely come! Well, we do rope plywood COWS (and Tammy's children) in this group... I guess a plywood horse isn't out of the question. And of course, there's still my standing suggestion for a plywood Jewel. :-) Speaking of "One Thousand Miles Away" -- Jewel closed her JewelStock third encore (yes, THIRD, Mr. Connell-Harris) with that tune after Bill "Dawgboy" Goodliffe and I drowned out the other 300 shouting EDAs (big mouths and sitting frontrow dead center didn't hurt, mind you) by harrassing (harrising?) her for it. Her response? "Err, Harris Brothers, right?", then she went right into it. Of course, she was only half right as Dean Harris was sitting several rows back, perched upon three phone books so he could see over the EDA in front of him. Being 18" tall has definite drawbacks, you know. Given the benefit of hindsight, Dean's red hair and impish good looks has me thinking they switched the real Dean-o at birth with a lepreachaun, I'm almost sure of it! Somewhere there is a Harris wearing painfully small green shoes, desperately trying to learn to dance a proper jig, who is sick and tired of eating Lucky Charms and plotting to one day embezzle that tempting pot of gold sitting in the vault at the First National Bank of Wee Folk! Anyway, that was the first time a musician ever made me openly cry, and of course, as everyone used to post in the early days, Jewel spent the first several minutes looking directly at me, singing it FOR me. Or so it seemed. I suppose that's the mark of a great live performer, being able to connect with each and every person in a crowded room. It's a magical moment that still lingers in my memory. Nothing she has done since has ever came close, although "Angel Standing By" at the Paradise Rock Club in '96 and "Hotel Angel/Moon over Austin" brought a chill or two. Another JewelStock? That's a promise I don't think will be kept in the strictest sense, but one day another variation of it my happen. It simply has to be an event that benefits ALL the parties equally at that point in time. At JewelStock, Jewel needed a polite audience who would work with her in an intimate setting. We WERE that audience. Her marketing approach now is to play to as many people as possible at once. We are NOT that audience. But as the past five years of Bearsville Reunions, Hot Dog Fests, Great EDA Adventures, Safaris for the Elusive Blue Llama, and Living Room Tours have proven, different forms of magical experiences continue to manifest themselves. You just have to keep in mind that Jewel is a catalyst, and the people on this list are the epoxy that forms the true bond. I'm hoping to meet more of the new generation Jewel fans at events like next weekend's Cinco de mayo Fiesta/Beach cleaup in NJ and at our fifth annual Bearsville reunion near Woodstock, NY in July. (Even if you are a thousand miles away!) We were having homeroom, and this boy that I don't even know was openly reading ANWA. It was so strange. He wasn't even embarrassed like I would be--I was taunted once or twice, and stupidly enough, I'd listened. So just to show nterest, I asked (as if I didn't know already), "Is that book good." He nodded yes. And now that I think of this, I realize how middle school was sheer hell and how wonderful high school is, where there are rich and poor kids and there's a lot of minority students. Maybe god did that for me... ===== ~*Liz*~ the Misplaced Angel HARMLESS & SHAMELESS PLUGS (if you can, check 'em out!) All that talk about Jewel's weight made me sit up and take a serious look at Jewel's (in photos and on video) physical appearance. I've come to the honest conclusion that as well as being kind, VERY talented and honest, she is THE most attractive woman on EARTH! She's so stunnning she sometimes makes me go weak at the knees (like now!) . Her silky blonde hair is beautiful, her face is lovely, those apple cheeks and heart warming smile, her teeth are wonderful (well techincally they're not but to me they are), her breasts are tremendous, her legs great, her EYES and her MOUTH are top for me though. I was just wondering what everyone elses' favourite aspect of Jewel's appearance is! Loads of love Niall xxx P.S. Jewel's breasts are fantastic but look past them (if u can he, he) and find personal aspects of her appearance that appeal to you. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Apr 2001 14:42:15 EDT From: Buster2530@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Harris Bros.? John aka Buster asked: > Who are these Harris Brothers I keep hearing so much about? Am I lost? No you are not lost. You are safe! Kinda like in the same sense people in Milwaukee don't like to bring up Jeffrey Dahmer and in the same sense that people in the Kennedy family don't like to bring up Chappaquidick, it's in the best interest of us all to not discuss the formation of the Harris Brothers (and the Black Sheep and all the other youngin's on this list that fell into the Harris Brothers trap and became mindless followers of this plague of jewel@smoe.org) Many of us have spent loads and loads of hard earned money on therapy, and it would be a shame to toss that all away now. Jewel didn't say "God damn ye Harris brothers" for nothing ya know.
