Hey Angels, I was looking at the internet movie data base coz I was soooo bored and decided to look up our little Jewel. Turns out she was on this show called Holmes, it's a New Zealand talk show in 1989!! When she was just a baby!! Well not literally, but she was a youngster. Can anyone confirm that?? And if so why was she on it?? lol Maybe for her short lived rap career...and also she was credited for a tv film called The Ghosts of Christmas Eve in 1999. It was with Michael Crawford so I'm guessing it was a singing thing...anyone got any info on that?? And one more thing...what were the ASCAP pop awards?? Was this televised? There's photos of her peforming in a pretty red dress and dark blue denim jeans and jacket. Jewel would KNOW if was from the EDAs, but we would donate it in honor of Jacque. Does that make sense? Here is an example: Sometimes when people pass on, a scholarship memorial is set up in their name. People who receive the scholarship know the money doesn't come directly from the person who died, it was just given in their honor. Is there anyone who still does not understand what I mean? Oops :) OK, if I get this wrong, please feel free to correct me! I don't want her memory to be incorrect. Jacque was Jewel's best friend. She wrote often of her in Chasing Down The Dawn. Jacque got cancer relatively early in her life. (It was cancer, right?) Jewel wrote about how hard it was for her to see her best friend in such a manner. One entry to the book even told about the moment of her death. It was probably the most emotional part in the book. ( I know I cried for a long time ). I think Jewel would really appreciate a donation made in her name. I haven't gotten many responses from people. PLEASE respond if you think this is a good idea! Since we are on the subject of Jacque (BTW- the donation in her name is a GREAT IDEA!) I just thought I would share something with ya'all. When I was reading Chasing Down the Dawn, I got to the part about how Jewel felt when Jacque died. It was the one year anniversary, August 17, 1999. I was reading it and I was struck by how Jewel portrayed her feelings (as always) Anyways, to my point... the date was August 17 and she said how she didn't want to get on stage, didn't want to be looked at, didn't want to be applauded. I felt horrible. Then I thought, Aug. 17? That was so close to when I saw her in concert. I looked at my ticket, and low and behold it was Aug. 17. I felt horrible! How could we have been laughing at her jokes and applauding her when she felt so terrible. Of course, there was no way of knowing, but it goes to show YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON IN SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE.
