Hi all - Just wanted to remind everyone that the EDAF has a volunteer opportunity next weekend (March 24) at the Foodbank of NJ in Hillside. Anyone who wants/needs to is welcome to crash at our place and join in the rest of the fun :-) I figured Saturday night we'd do the FunTime America Lasertag thing - everyone seemed to really enjoy that last time (and we're even closer to it now :-)). As usual I will be expecting people to crash friday and saturday and will send directions out to those who need them. We'll be volunteering from 10am to 1pm. For those of you who were there last time, you'll remember that the foodbank has specific volunteering guidelines which can be found on their website at http://www.njfoodbank.org/volunteer/index.html - Directions directly to the warehouse can also be found on the website (email me if you can't access the website and need directions/guidelines). Please email me ASAP if you plan to join us (even if you plan to only attend at the foodbank) so I can get those who need them the directions and get a head count before the foodbank calls for confirmation next week. Please also bring nonperishable food items to donate if you're able. Anyone wishing to make a monetary contribution to the foodbank may do so by printing out the donation form on the web site. Feel free to email me if you need any more info! Hope to see lots of new faces and lots of old ones too :-) Tammy :-) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Mar 2001 20:52:30 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: [EDA] FWD: JeweLink: JMerch NewsFlash! Here is the latest issue of JeweLink, directly from Jewel's "people", if you want to get a copy of this directly as each issue comes out, you can sub- scribe to it by sending a blank email to join-jewelink@list.jeweljk.com ******************************************** JeweLink - The Official Jewel Communications List ******************************************** Hi Everyone! Chuck here, It's been quite some time since Jewel's Spirit Tour ended and new official t-shirts became available. Now, thanks to you helping us decide on the two best designs recently at Jewel's website poll, JMerch is happy to announce the first all new Jewel t-shirts are now in stock and ready to ship, at the Jewel Store. We couldn't have done it without you. Your opinions were heard and now you can wear the shirts you had a helping hand in choosing. Also, for the first time, we are offering both of the new designs in a Youth Large size, which is an Adult Small size with a trimmer cut. Because our regular supplier of 100% organic cotton shirts did not have a black Youth Large size available, this one particular size will come on a heavy weight 100% cotton Jerzee T. Of course the Adult Large size and X-Large size will be sewn from high quality 100% organic cotton. Quantities are limited so don't miss out. You can view both new t-shirt designs right now at www.jeweljk.com/store/shophome.html. Have a great weekend! I finally saw Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and I must say that all of the praise it has been getting has been more than well deserved.. It was so poetic visually, as only Ang Lee can do.. If Ang Lee wins the Best Director Oscar as he has been doing at every show recently, all the better.. The way that he made martial arts look...beautiful...was awe-inspiring.. I didn't expect the love story undertones to be so powerful, yet they leave the biggest impression in my mind as I sit here, just having seen it 20 minutes ago.. Why I doubted that I would be left speechless by this piece of art is puzzling now; I should have known that the Ang Lee touch would make it extraordinary.. If you haven't seen this movie, it is well worth it (and then some)... PS - Sorry for the off-topic nature (even with the Ang Lee - Jewel connection)... I was just so stricken by this movie, that I had to spread the joy... =) scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME. They're few and far between, but a recent update from 3/8/01 briefly mentions his (and our) girl, Jewel.. =) March 8, 2001 I just got back from an awesome vacation. Jewel and I spent the week between the Columbus and Cleveland PBR events on St. Lucia, which is an island in the Caribbean that's its own country. We had a suite right on the water, and it was just like all the postcards - white sand, blue water and palm trees. It's a beautiful place, and it hasn't been ruined by tourism, which is pretty cool. St. Lucia's main source of income is still bananas. The rest of the entry doesn't mention Jewel, but they seem really sweet together for all the stuff I've seen.. Their personalities and backgrounds just click =) scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME.
