Hi Didnt this question arise a LONG time ago? Is seem to remember the same point being made when i first joined this list a couple of years ago (which was probably about the last time i actually submitted something too). Can one of the other long time EDAs verify this, just to satisfy my personal curiosity? it'll drive me mad otherwise! Obviously one of the players left their watch on, but rather than record it again, the sound technician probably just filtered it out by changing the EQ and stuff. I mean, like u said, it's not very noticeable as it is. Nevertheless, an interesting thing to notice. I haven't been on the list too terribly long. August I think, but I just want to point something out to some of the other EDA's who have been on the list for a longer period of time. (I mean this in a completely nice and friendly way!) I've noticed from time to time a discussion will be brought up and then someone who is on the list will sort of gripe (not you, you didn't sound "gripey") that this has already been discussed YEARS ago. The thing is, some of us haven't been on the list that long and may not know about some of these things. When we find out about them naturally we are excited to learn something new and discuss it with other members. I'm just asking, as a courtesy, for those who have discussed these things in the past to allow us newcomers to enjoy the discussions that you may have previously already been involved in. If you recognized that maybe you've already talked about a particular subject and don't want to read about it again then just do what I do when one of the fights start in here. Delete, delete, delete! Again, I don't want to sound rude or argumentative. I just thought I'd bring it to your attention seeing as how it may be something you haven't considered. The Jewel song I have called Wild Horses is also called "The Poem Song" which is probably the actual title. Jewel reads a poem (I know for sure it is her) and then she sings a song based on that which says "Wild Horses" maybe once in the song. I don't believe it's a Rolling Stones cover. That one is not Jewel, to my knowledge. Hope this helps! ~Rachel~ "I have it on good terms to know that the quest for perfection can leave an individual gasping for breath." Jewel video Hi everyone, I've seen the videos to WWSYS, YWMFM (both versions), Foolish Games, Hands and Down So Long. I think my favourite from them is You Were Meant For Me, directed by Lawrence Carroll. The shots and the colours are beatiful, Jewel looks lovely and the story behind the video is great and expressed awesomely! It's kind of simple, but very beautiful. I think Foolish Games is following. Hey, any volunteers in producing a Jewel Video Collection with ALL her video clips? The EveryDay Angels Foundation would like to share a few important announcements: *** THE FOUNDATION NAMES A NEW BOARD MEMBER We're happy to introduce the newest member of our board of directors, Ron Collins. Ron has an extensive educational background, having taught public high school and worked with several nonprofit organizations during his career. Ron lives in Austin, Texas, so expect to see more organized activities in the central part of that state. *** THE EDAF WEBSITE TO RELAUNCH MARCH 26th On March 26 our redesigned EDAF website will launch, featuring links to other organizations, musicians who have donated their talents to our cause, inspirational stories from fellow EDAs and much more. Be sure to check it out! *** UPCOMING SPRING EVENTS Shaking off the winter doldrums, the EDAF is busy preparing plenty of volunteer days. The first will take place at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside (many of you will remember the great day we had there a while back -- just think SPINACH!). The date is Saturday, March 24 from 10am-1pm. There will also be a traditional EDA gathering at the "Campbell Inn". Look for details, including directions and info on fun stuff we will do afterwards, from Tammy Campbell in the near future. If you have any questions or would like to participate, you can email Tammy at tlcathome@aol.com. We'd LOVE to see some new faces so don't be shy... everyone is welcome! Also be sure to watch for upcoming posts on possible FoodBank volunteer events in SoCal, Texas and New England, our bi-annual New Jersey beach cleanup in May and the MS Walk. *** MARCH IS RED CROSS MONTH Since 1943, March has been nationally designated "Red Cross Month", publicly recognizing the humanitarian services and accomplishments of the organization. We've held several blood drives in cooperation with the Red Cross, and encourage EDAs to contact their local offices and see how they can help out, including the very important activity of giving blood. *** WHAT IS THE EVERYDAY ANGELS FOUNDATION? For those new to the list, the EveryDay Angels Foundation (EDAF) was formed in 1997 by members of this list as a way of channeling some "angel/list energy" into our communities. Since then, the EDAF has organized and partnered with other organizations for many events across the US including beach cleanups, food bank volunteering, clothing collections, blood drives and charity walkathons. As a list project, we compiled a scrapbook called "Acts of EveryDay Kindness", which contains entries from over 100 EDA's from around the world relating stories of charity, volunteerism, and other contributions to the global community. The book was bound and presented to Jewel as a birthday gift in June, 1999 during our meetings with Higher Ground for Humanity (HGH), an organization formed by Nedra Carroll and Jewel. If you'd like to view an online version of the book, go to: www.edaf.org/kindness/edakbook.html (each page is a printable 100kb JPEG image) The EDAF has an ongoing partnership with HGH, including financial and program support. Together, we held awareness workshops for EDAs during the summer of 1999 in Bearsville, NY and Ocean Beach, CA. While founded by EDAs, the EveryDay Angels Foundation is a separate entity from the Jewel list and many of our members are from outside the list. However, all our members are "EveryDay Angels" in the truest sense of the phrase! For more information on the Foundation, including how to join our activities, please drop us a note at edafinfo@aol.com, watch for future Jewel list posts or visit our website (after March 26th) at: http://www.edaf.org While most of our formal activities occur in the northeastern New York and Boston areas, and in southern California, we expect to expand our efforts to many other areas of the US and internationally. Everyone is welcome to join in -- a good time is always had by all! Hoping to see many of you at the spring and summer events, Amy, Dennis, Tom and Ron for The EveryDay Angels Foundation ********************************************************* The EveryDay Angels Foundation is a non-profit public benefit corporation whose mission is to promote grassroots volunteerism and community involvement.
