I'm guessing we are going to see at least one of the songs she has started playing the last few months, then some new tracks. She may put a song on the album that she has resurected from the past, since she did put Deep Water on Spirit. It would be kind of nice to see a live album with new tracks. She does perform the best on stage. We probably won't even hear reliable rumors until this summer anyway. Even the "connected" people are not so connected anymore. Probably expect a posting on the official jewel mailing list in the next few months with an update like "jewel has been hard at work in the studio." and possibly a list of one or two songs that they will put on the album. liz lee wrote: > Do you think she'll put in some older songs with all the new ones like > Stephenville? I don't despise it like I do Sweetest's Day -- that's a different story all together. I have had one good V-day in my 19 years of existance and it was last year. No, I wasn't with a boyfriend; haven't had one of those before -- I almost did, but again, that's a different story. Anyway, the reason it was a good V-day was because I spent it with two of my favorite guy friends in the world. It was great. There was no romantic pressure or expectation from each other. We were just three friends out to see a chick flick, eat dinner and have a good time. Afterwards, I went and wrote about what a wonderful time I had in my journal and listened to some Backstreet Boys and Jewel. Okay, I just forgot my point... erm... Oh yeah, have a Happy Valentine's Day. Go and have a good time. We say every day should be what V-day represents but we don't actually do it. We need V-day and S-day to remind us to take a few moments out of our busy busy busy busy schedules and smile about what we have and appreciate everything about it. Jewel is working up versions of "First Cut Is The Deepest" and "Tonight's The Night" specifically for this event. Demo work continues in preparation for her next album. Who will be producing has not yet been determined, but Jewel continues to write new material and has been quite experimental and adventurous on her recent song demos. Several older unreleased songs are also being considered. One surprise is a rewritten "Angel Needs A Ride," (an obscure 1994 release on a San Diego music compilation and also on the two record set vinyl version of her first album) now with completely different music and verses. At this point, "the short list" of potential songs is at approximately three dozen, so there's an abundance of material that Jewel is considering. We know many have been patiently waiting for information about various new Jewel related VHS & DVD releases. I'll sign off here and hand you over to Chuck from JMerch, who has those updates for you. MrBB *************************************** Chuck here, JMerch is pleased to announce that in addition to the DVD, the VHS format video of "Ride With The Devil" is now in stock and available for immediate shipping. Many video distributors have chosen not to offer the VHS format version, except on a special order basis, so we are happy to be able to stock this hard to locate video for you. Also, we have just received our shipment of "Lilith Fair: A Celebration of Women in Music" in both VHS and DVD formats, and will have those available online at the Jewel Store in a day or two. This new release features behind-the-scenes footage, as well as the following live performances from the 1997 Lilith Fair Tour: Building a Mystery (Sarah McLachlan) **Water is Wide (Indigo Girls/Jewel/Sarah McLachlan) Bitch (Meredith Brooks) Tried to Be True (Indigo Girls/Sheryl Crow) Sunny Came Home (Shawn Colvin) Strong Enough (Sheryl Crow) **Near You Always (Jewel) Shame on You (Indigo Girls) Ice Cream (Sarah McLachlan) **Closer to Fine (Indigo Girls/Meredith Brooks/Jewel/Sarah McLachlan) I Need (Meredith Brooks) Wichita Skyline (Shawn Colvin) Angel (Sarah McLachlan) I Shall Believe (Sheryl Crow) **Morning Song (Jewel) **Big Yellow Taxi (All Artists including Jewel) Please visit us at the www.jeweljk.com store, if you'd enjoy copies of "Ride With The Devil" or the Lilith Fair Collection on VHS or DVD. We'll be happy to help you and ship right to your door. I emailed the list this morning, wondering if Juel might put older songs. I read the new JeweLink. I'm so happy they're considering it. However, I'm going to be cautious about the new "Angel Needs a Ride". I'm not saying I won't like it because it'll be different, but still, I'll hear it and then decide, I won't jump into conclusions. For any American high school students, are any of you taking AP European History? My school is presenting it as an option (for sophomores!), and I was wondering if I should take it... besides the fact that it'll look good on my applications for college later on. ===== ~*Liz*~ the Misplaced Angel HARMLESS & SHAMELESS PLUGS (if you can, check 'em out!)
