Yeah, many of her love songs deal with maybe the sad aspect of love (but she definitely has MANY BEAUTIFUL happy ones!!!!). But I think that might have to do with the fact that sometimes, it's just easier to write about the sad stuff, because it seems more emotionally draining where you want to write it down. And also because when it's happy stuff, sometimes you're just too busy enjoying the happiness instead of alone somewhere writing about it...well, this at least applies to me, so I was thinking it could relate. ;) amy *the raindrop angel* ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Jan 2001 11:19:48 -0000 From: "Casey O'Brien" Subject: [EDA] happy vs. sad Hey all... I also think that in terms of song writing, sadder songs are in a way easier to write because the issues and emotions they contain are more likely to be things that you feel you need to deal with. Sometimes, I am lost as to how to deal with something in reality so I try and put it into words, whether it be a poem or just midless ramblings. It really is a form of therapy :-) Cheers, Case _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Jan 2001 15:51:00 -0000 From: "Scott Fraser" Subject: Re: [EDA] favorite Jewel poems There are so many poems to choose from and I always change my mind, but I have decided on these- 1 You are Not 2 The Things You Fear 3 We Have Been Called Scott :-) >From: Shawn E Williams >To: jewel@smoe.org >CC: butterfly980@juno.com >Subject: [EDA] favorite Jewel poems >Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2001 15:40:26 -0800 > >hey guys! i was just wondering, what is everyone's top three favorite >poems by Jewel? >mine are:] > >1. I have to agree with you. I know that looking back through the years of writing I've done, almost everything is sad and depressing. The "happy" stuff that I've written is not very good at all, and I think it's because I wasn't really taking the time to write my feelings because I wanted to get back to whatever happiness was filling my life at the time. On the other hand some of my more depressing or macabre writings have actually been published. P.S. Fellow EDA's if anyone has any suggestions on a good beginners guitar I'd really appreciate some input. I'm going today to buy one and although I've been doing research etc. it's always good to get personal input. Thanks!!!
