Hi angels,
I felt the need to respond to this message.  I agree that it does not matter 
who the biggest fan is.  I really think most if not all of the EDA's would 
fall in the category of "biggest fan" and I think the EDAs are good fans.  
This organization came together for the common love of Jewel's music, but it 
has continued on to be the basis of so many wonderful things.  I can 
understand your concern about Jewel being on FANatic and your worry of an 
obsessive fan, but I can assure you, as much as I love Jewel, I wouldn't call 
it an unhealthy obsession as you referred to.  In fact as much as I enjoyed 
FANatic I honestly would have preferred having an EDA gathering with Jewel.  
I think most of the EDAs look beyond Jewel's choice of clothes to wear, etc., 
and I tried to ask questions that meant more than what's your favorite color 
and I tried to represent the EDAs, because if it wasn't for you guys I 
wouldn't have been on the show.  It seemed like you thought the idea of 
FANatic was silly and in some ways it was - I look back and anyone who was on 
FAnatic pretty much looks like a goof ball, but that is what MTV wants to 
show.  They want to show how one person can have such an impact on someone 
else.  Yes, plenty of the Fans look like psycho goof balls, but I really 
tried to hold my composure.  I was nervous to meet the women who inspired me, 
who made me feel comfortable with who I am, who helped me to broaden my 
horizons and look past the pessimistic side of life (remember I was 18 at the 
time of the show).  I wanted to thank her and show her that her music and 
poetry reach so many.  It is a beautiful thing to have someone that you feel 
you can relate to and who makes you questions different aspects of yourself 
and life.  I actually think FANatic was a good idea.  Aside from my 
silliness, I think Jewel presented herself openly and honestly and gave the 
fans another look at who she is.  I think that it was great that MTV had her 
on it in contrast to other artist's whose fan base does consist mostly of 
people only interested in the petty details.  Sorry I wrote a novel.  This 
post was not to disregard your opinion, but to offer another side of the 
story in hopes that you will see that many of us care about Jewel more than 
what her current hairstyle is.

	Hi, it's me again, since I remenber I forgot the fun part (sharing why and
how the meaning of the song gets to you) I shall do it :)

	I said "Foolish Games" as number one, everything in the past years, that
have happened to me, have to do with that song... I don't know if it's given
the fact I like listen to it every single day, or whatever...but the huge
things in the recent years have to do with it, it's so powerful and so nice,
I know it doesn't contain any powerful lyrics, I just love the way she does
perform it, I have some versions where the voice it's amazing...it reminds
me of friends, loves, loses, and all kind of things...

	2.- Everything Breaks (Sometimes): It's one of the most realistic yet cruel
songs I've ever listened..."maybe we were next in line, maybe...everything
breaks sometimes" it's just the way it is, at some point of our lives,
things will break...it reminds me of someone who meant a lot to me, and is
long gone... so that breaked too..

	3.- Don't (MuchMusic): I like the way she teases the audience in this
version, and the song is so great, she loves this person so much, but she is
asking him almost in tears to not let her fall in love with him again...how
powerful is that ?

	4.- Nicotine Love: I love the irony in the name, and it's also true, love
can be so addictive like nicotine :)

	5.- Carnivore: I love this song performed, you can see Jewel voice talent
on it :)

	6.- Emily: Sometimes we forget about people, we neglect others, without
even realizing, and when we do, it's too late...we should pay more attention
for those we love.

	7.- Near You Always: I like the lyrics, and the voice...she did a kick ass
version of it in woodstock, with the long thin screaming I love so much in
Jewel

	9.- Last Night: I've only heard one version of this song, and it was
acappella...when she screamed, I shivered, and it's a good way to put how
the police is sometimes :)

	10.- Pieces of You: A verse in this song, reminds me that it's ok to be the
way I am, because those who bash people for religion, sex preference, or
outer look, is just afraid of something... it is so true, and one of the
most centered and real songs I've listened in my entire life... again, jewel
does have a way to tell the world to stop being such a bitch, and to change
with a nice touch :)

hi everyone!!  sorry i am a little past due on this update!!  this last
week has been extremely busy.  olivia, aka: stinker, is now at riley
hospital for children.  her little arm has been treated once with
surgery, and is going to need it again soon.  she has huge ulcerations
near the elbow area, which are very painful to her.  they give her
tylenol before each dressing change, but come on!  how much does tylenol
help me for pain?  not much.  it is the most painful thing in the
world to watch your child suffer.  i pray for her recovery from this
horrible, rare malformation.  tumors are very scary, aggressive things.
she hasn't had much of an appetite lately either, so she once again just
started to lose weight.  she is around 4 pounds and 7 ounces!  she
normally loves her bottle, and will take two ounces a feeding.  she
looks wonderful.  everyone continually comes over to olivias crib,(yes,
crib!!) and admires her.  all the nurses adore her.  she is so very
beautiful.  she has been in a  crib since shes been at riley.  she has a
hearing exam soon, and another eye exam in one week.  they are worried
about one of her eyes especially.  they are watching closely for rop.
shes in big, BIG girl diapers now!  up to 10 pounds!  she is such a
sweetie.  her personality is great.  the doctor who did her surgery even
commented on what a wonderful little girl she is.  i cannot wait for you
all to see her.  it will be awhile though.  the doctor said NO visitors
for 6 months.  she is on steroids (to try and help the tumor shrink) and
this makes her immunity even more susceptible.  she loves you all, and
will be looking forward to the day she can meet you.  my mom just flew
out here for the 6th time,(she lives in colorado) and helped paint and
decorate olivia's room.  my sister also flew here from dallas,(her
fourth trip) to help and also to go to the baby shower!!!  they just
cant stay away from our stinker!!  olivia already has them wrapped!!:)
anyway, my brother sean, has also been here so many times to help as
well, and i just wanted them all to know how much we needed them and how
much we appreciate all their time and help.  they have went above and
beyond, and i am very blessed to have such a wonderful caring family.  i
couldn't have made it this far without them.  and we also thank you ALL
for your support and prayers.  we need them so greatly.  we are so
blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family!  i will update you
in a week! i hope all is well for everyone.  we love you!  michelle and
olivia grace(STINKER!!!)guess how that nickname came about!:))

Chinese is my second language, and the thing about Chinese is that sometimes
it simply takes a few words to describe something complicated. Which is why
where I'm from, friends and I are always speaking a hybrid of
Chinese/English and some other local dialects to get our message through ;)

What I heard about the movie was that the script was written originally in
English and then translated into olden Chinese (think Shakespeare in Chinese
;). So I'm guessing not much content was lost. But yeah, if we're talking
about imageries etc, then yes, I'd say the subtitles wouldn't be able to
capture the true beauty of the language :)

But then again, I relied on a lot of the English subtitles while watching
the movie because the Chinese used in there was a tad too different and
difficult from what I learnt.

Anyway, truthfully... didn't really like the movie all that much, got really
bored at some parts of it. Chang Cheng (Lo) was eye candy though :)

Totally non Jewel content here, *lol*

Here are my songs:

1. Carnivore- Such a powerful song! BOTH the lyrics
and the music have an extraordinary moving effect on
you.

2. Foolish Games- This is such a special song... it
made me become a Jewel fan and it'll always have a
special place in my heart... It was a song that
accompained me day to day while I was feeling lonely.

3. Everything Breaks- Is such a true song that
simply... it easily identifies to you and to a moment
when everything just.. broke.

4. Deep Water- Such an inspiring song and the music is
so moving.

5. You Were Meant For Me- The classic, but still one
of my favourites... the chorus and the bridge just
blow you away! The lyrics are also fun, but incredibly
true and honest.

6. Life Uncommon- This is really THE FAITH ANTHEM!
BOTH its lyrics and music are powerful, and the lyrics
are really inspiring and have a very important
message.

7. Lemondrops & Clover- It's such a sweet and fun to
sing a long song! It simply reminds me the wonder of
falling in love.

8. Rosy & Mick- It's a such BITTERSWEET love story! I
LOVE it!

9. Hands- The lyrics are just wonderful and the melody
is beautiful... it just helps you keep going in life
and reminds you that you can really make a difference,
and, well, who can forget the TWO most important
messages of the song: "We are all OK" and "In the end
only kindess matters".

10. Sometimes It Be That Way- It's such a great song!
It has excellent and so witty lyrics! I ABSOLUTELY
LOVE its sarcastic tone!

this is a cool idea =0) i do not have all the unreleased songs or bootlegs
that a lot of you have, but here are my favs:

1.Angel Standing By-i love jewels voice in this song. in a life uncommon, she
sings it and it's soooo pretty. my friend said it looks like shes stoned when
shes singing it, but she just got really into it. i went to PA last year and
thats all i listend too =0)

2. Ave Maria-first of all i love this song. second she sounds so good! i
listen to it before i go to sleep. yes i know christmas is over...

3. Painters-i said before that i love this song because it tells a beutiful
story. it's both sad and happy. i like how it transitions like when she
says"and in my heart i knew something was wrong, i went running through the
garden screaming no god..."

4. Daddy-i like when she says "i wanna bash in your teech,daddy", but she
says daddy like shes really hurt.

5.Who Will Save Your Soul-any version is awesome but i love the one on
storytellers. i got the cd. she did a similar version on the spirit tour in
boston.

6.Absence Of Fear-the melody is really pretty, i love the ending

7.Life Uncommon- in chasng down the dawn, there is that story about jaque
dying and she sings the song to her when she dies. it's so beuriful it made
me cry!

8.Rudolph The Red Nosed Reigndeer-nedra and jewel make a good duet. I like
how they switch off singing the verses

9.Jupitor the radio version-magical.enough said

10.Hands-when i saw her in concert, everyone was singing to this song. there
wasn't one person that wasn't singing. it was so amazing. she also said she
wrote this with martin luther king in mind.
