Here are two more: 1- Gregory Page, he's great. While I don't like all of his songs I absolutly love some of them. 2- Nancy Micciulla. Nancy is a very talented list-member, when I first heard her tape I loved it so much, I did put it on heavy rotation in my player. Acoustic music mainly, a great voice and intelligent lyrics. You can check out samples on the homepage I created for her (including a version of Jewel's 'Sometimes it be that way') www.PaperWings.de Don't worry, the page is in english, just a german domain :-) Take care everyone, Christian ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 07 Nov 2000 21:19:15 +1100 From: Nikki Whatford Subject: [EDA] Hi all Hi EDA's, I was just wondering...if Jewel releases a live album or something like that..and you all could choose two songs only to be on the album, what would everyone choose? Hard choice! Nikki ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 07 Nov 2000 13:08:15 EST From: IanDJones@aol.com Subject: [EDA] underrated artists About a month or so ago, I heard a singer on the TV in the other room. I could have sworn it was Jewel...(I probably would have put money on it, in fact.) It wasn't... It was Christian rock singer, Julie Miller. Her voice is so similar to Jewel's that now, since I bought her CD [Broken Things], I have to listen very closely to determine who's singing - Jewel or Julie Miller. Highly reccomended. (Slight disclaimer: I say she's Christian rock, and I heard that's where she started out, but I don't really know if she still fits in that category.) Enjoy! There are so many I love. But since Jessica is sad (but also inspiring) I'd want the other to be something more humorous, maybe Fish Family, MOPGGTW (My Own Private God's Gift to Women) or even Down at the Bridge. Of course that's more than 2. I'd love for all those unreleased songs to be available to us. (On CD with minimal background noise) Although I like hearing some noise, it gives a feel for the atmosphere and mood of the crowd. - -Kerri - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nikki Whatford" To: Sent: Tuesday, November 07, 2000 5:19 AM Subject: [EDA] Hi all > Hi EDA's, > > I was just wondering...if Jewel releases a live album or something like > that..and you all could choose two songs only to be on the album, what > would everyone choose? > > > Hard choice! > > Nikki > ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 7 Nov 2000 10:45:12 -0500 (EST) From: Cody26@webtv.net (Michelle Cody) Subject: [EDA] Olivia Grace hello everyone. today is olivias one week birthday. at 12:53, my little angel will be one week old. i just wanted to let you all know she is still stable. she is getting her fourth blood transfusion today, so my stomach is in knots! OK... Jessica and Satellite... But 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 would be Sometimes It Be That Way, Life Uncommon, Kiss Your Ass, Break Me, and... SERVE THE EGO!!! Yes, I still like it after a couple months of repeatedly playing it, therefore I've concluded that it IS good! Also, has anyone heard of John Mayer? He's this just-signed singer-songwriter from Atlanta, and he's AWESOME! I picked up his independent first (acoustic) album from awarestore.com and it's brilliant... I think he's making a new album for a bigger record company... Look for him on mp3.com or his website johnmayer.com - one of the best artists I've 'discovered' for ages :). Hello Angels, I so happy the fighting is over around here, it's great to just sit back and read NICE stuff, but I guess I'll be the one to make the next complant. I was wondering what's w/ the pics on Jewel's Official Website, I mean last weeks were really good, but other than that they've been kinda unfocused etc. I mean, I'm happy they've got pics of Jewel( new ones), but it's just been a little aggrovating, has anyone else notice this or feel the same way? Hi peeps :-) I just checked out the official website for Politically Incorrect to see who would be on it with Jewel tomorrow night (Wednesday), as there are always four guests. Accordion to the website, along with Jewel and a still to be announced guest, Jason Alexander (George on Seinfeld) and Laura Innes (Kerry on ER) will be on the panel. Again, as MrBB has mentioned, this ABC show typically airs after Nightline in most areas, but to be sure you should check your local listings. I just wanted to say that Edwin McCain is one of my very favorite artists of all time. Most people i know don't even know him except for maybe, "i'll be". i Just recently i heard a song by him and Jewel was singing back-up. it was like a dream come true for me. then i found out that on one tour ( i am not sure which one) Edwin opened for Jewel. I think that is so awesome, ~Victoria~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 7 Nov 2000 20:33:34 EST From: QTpie324@aol.com Subject: [EDA] That word I have no problem with Mike and the word(s) we can't say, he actually seems like an incredibly nice guy, but theres really no difference with what we are doing now and what we were doing before. Everyone knows what you mean when you say the N word in different ways, i dunno, thats just my opinion, But on to what the list is really about, Jewel, i'd like to get into this whole angelfood thing but i have nothing to give back yet, of course i have her cds, but only the released ones. i am quite new so i really dont know how it works, if someone can cue me in that would be wonderful!!! :O) thank you sooo much Victoria ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 7 Nov 2000 23:09:41 EST From: AphroditeSkye@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Hi all i would have to pick 1.everything breaks 2.last dance rodeo they are both beautifully written and composed songs and when she sings them live her voice sympathizes with the words and creates a harmonious blend of music that cannot be compared to anything else ive ever heard. *Kat the fuschia angel ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V5 #391 ***************************
